Who has it? I got it last night and was playing it for an hour and would have to say it's fantastic (I know I know I was playing a short while). Unbelievable draw distance (can see for miles).

Yeah, that's the first thing that struck me: the draw distance is incredible! Those vistas outside of the Imperial capital--woo!
Well, I deleted my archer-orc, cause I kept switching to my melee weapon. Guess I'm a warrior at heart. Once I beat the game, I'm definitely going to try a mage, though. Don't get me wrong, though: I love what they did with archery. Seeing your character draw the bow/seeing them stick into stuff/being able to pick them up.

God, I am having so much fun. Chorral is a great town and the county surrounding it is amazing. Just finished a creepy mission in the town south of Chorral - the dilapidated town hidden in the forest.

Awesomeness. I'm loving the new weapons and armor I find as the game progresses. Gotta buy me a better horse, too. The Elven claymore rocks, by the way.

Here's mine:
2.8 GHz Pentium 4
NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT
1gb Ram
Notice that I don't have 3.0 GHz. Nevertheless, mine runs great on medium with bloom lighting and 2x anti-aliasing. Relative to Morrowind, Oblivion's engine is far more optimized and flexible. Having less bugs helps, too.

cool LF!! that's about what i've got. 'cept i think we've got the Radeon 9500 series card.
Ger wishes to thank you both for your replies. (he's paranoid it won't run and i'll have a hissy fit!! hahahah)

Oof! I think those are the biggest system reqs I've seen yet. I think it's time to shell out for a new video card, I get the feeling something's gone wrong on my 9600 as my frame rate seems to have dropped off siginificantly in the last month or so.

A new video card would help.

I've taken the plunge and now have a Radeon 9800 XT and 1.5 gb RAM winging its way to me. The XT should do me for the next year or so, as it's performance is only very slightly below that of the X700 Pro. Not sure if my Mainboard is going to choke it though, so I'm going to have to do a bit of benchmarking somehow. I'm also trying to locate a reasonably-priced Athlon XP 3000 on eBay, though I'd sooner have the 2800 with the Thoroughbred core as it's a faster chip for gaming. Very rare though.

My video card isn't good enough in this PC, and my laptop struggles even running Morrowind. I'll have to wait for anything between six months and a year before I can comfortably spend money on a better comp. Guess I won't be playing this for a while.
