...I went to Denny's! 8O

It was just for dessert, not for a full meal, but still...I just...it was...I mean...

It was pretty damn revolting and I felt gross all the next day.

That sums up Denny's pretty well.

If you think that's bad try White Castle sometime. They make these tiny little burgers that people around here call sliders.
Spoiler
They're such little grease bombs that they slide in and they slide back out. But if you're ever constipated...

they shut down the KFC in town for a couple of months because of all of the maggots under the serving line. said the floor was moving when they shone a light under there.

Denny's sucks.

But White Castle rocks! I found out the local Costco sells bulk slyders, so I get them all the time. Anytime I'm in New York or New Jersey I make sure I go get the real thing. I'm dang tempted to make a road trip up there soon.

Cinncinati is 8-9 hours away. New Jersey's 3.

At 30 minutes, White Castle is still out of range without an emergency stop.

My friend, Denny's is the corporate chain version of a 'greasy spoon'. It is a gloriously mediocre restaurant that is open 24hrs a day, serving underwhelming fare at all hours. It is founded on the premise that most everything tastes better either deep fried or grilled in old lard, if not both. It is not so bad that you would actively avoid it, but neither is it something that you salivate in anticipation for, unless you are drunk, hung over, or a victim of starvation.

It is simply the restaurant you end up at because nothing else is open.

or when IHOP is overcrowded. man I hate IHOP> now Waffle House is a quality establishment, esp when I was smoking. nothing like eating at a WH on the road at 7am, coffee and cigs to start the day.

just remember, smoking is bad.

maybe, could be... ;) but I could say my dad makes "better" chili than Hormel, but Hormel Chili w/Beans is still my favorite.... :)

I heart IHOP and the Waffle House. Gimme a giant steak omelet and pour some blueberry syrup over it and I'm--*stops typing, goes to IHOP*

Gota disagree, Sarge. I don't love IHOP, but I despise Waffle House, ick.

If I must make a choice over chain places for breakfast/brunch, give me Cracker Barrel or The Original Pancake House (not IHOP) anyday.

I'll take breakfast at Cracker Barrell or Bob Evans anyday over Dennys or IHOP or Waffle house. :)

But my favorite place for breakfast is any good local bakery.

never been to Crack Barrel. if i had my choice for breakfast? a pancake house near the Vermont/New Hampshire border. nothing but pancakes and syrup. all sorts of syrup. with an ice cold glass of milk? heaven.
