The Spacey Awards 2006

No, it's not handed out by Kevin Spacey. It's the Space Channel's annual honoring of the best in sci-fi/fantasy on film and television. This may be of interest just to Canadian Watchers (all four of us, heh). The "Best" winners were picked by an "expert" panel from Space, while the "Faves" were voted by Canadian fans. I assume the Sci Fi Channel in the US has a similar thing, but I haven't heard about it. Anyway, the winners are in bold:

All right, so Stargate, Battlestar Galactica and Serenity (i.e. anything by Joss Whedon) are pretty popular in Canada. Funny, but I never got into Stargate SG-1, even though I like Richard Dean Anderson. It's a shame Sin City scored so low in the favorite movie category.
