What a nail biting last two minutes!!! I was dreading a repeat of the opening match of 2004 against France... luckily that did not happen, and England take 3 points!

England 1, Paraguay 0!

Excellent news! This means after all teams in group B have played one game, the points are as follows:

England 3
Sweden 1
Trinidad 1
Paraguay 0

Muaha! Good start for England!

I didn't see it, so I'll have to take your word for that! I watched the England match though.

Sweden match was great. Sweden should of won it with the amount of shots they had. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Larsson should of had about 4 between them. Shaka Hislop just pulled off some great saves, proves he is still a great keeper. Shame John got sent off.

I gotta give T&T credit for that match. THey were a man short the entire second period and they kept the Sweedes from scoring.

Really excellent match.

Argentina 2, Ivory Coast 1

The last 20 minutes was immense! What a match! Argentina definitely look on form... but if the ivory coast play like that in their other matches I wouldn't rule them out just yet... ones to look out for perhaps.

Arsenal's Eboue and Kolo Toure again look good in defence. Drogba looks quite good. Crespo was good and Riquelme was the best player of the pitch. Three Chelsea Strikers on: Crespo, Drogba and Kalou. With the performances like that plus with Mikel Obi and Shevchenko being at Chelsea... competition is high. Don't like Sorin, drives and cries too much.

The only access I have at the moment is to the BBC live coverage website... can't even listen to the games over the web, *pout*. Kept up with the South Korea - Togo and the France - Switzerland matches... The second one especially seemed very dull.

Some weird calls by the refs these past couple days. Is it always this bad?

To be honest, the standard of refereeing has been fairly good so far (apart from the France game tonight)

And to be fair to the refs, they have a lot of directives from FIFA over and above the actual rules of the game to contend with.

Looking forward to seeing Spain and the Ukraine join the party tomorrow.
