Wonderful pictures, LF! Were you able to meet up with any British Watchers?

Nah, unfortunately. The trip was quite a whirlwind. We only had four or five free days. The rest of the time we'd be off and about by 9:00 AM. An average day would be seeing an important cathedral, going to a second important place, eating lunch, a third place, dinner, then a play at the end of the day. Pretty exhausting!

Sounds mah-velous though. Some day I'll get over there.

I personally think the first two pictures you posted are postcard worthy. :)

Oh, Foul! I am soooo envious! It is my goal in life to stand in the Colosseum before I die.

Great pics.

Thanks, Caam. Don't forget to punch the Colosseum, as well! Or kick it. I forgot to do that.

I'll post some Stonehenge pics next time, as well as the rest of my Colosseum pics.

I spent a week in Rome as an unappreciative 13 year old in 1973 as part of a local teen tour. I would love to go again.

Can you imagine this scenario? I went sightseeing with the rest of the group on the first full day wearing white pants. When we returned that night, they were gray from soot and such in the street, although the skies were blue and there was no smog. I was so disgusted and self rightious, I refused to go out the rest of the week and missed out on the Collosseum and Sistene Chapel.

Ah, what an idiot I was...

My professor brought his two sons with him, and I could easily write a book justifying their slow and merciless end. On the bright side, I got a free ticket to a concert at St. Martin's simply because his 13 year old son didn't want to go. The kid was obviously bored at every church service, be it Westminster or the chapel at King's College. "Hire a teenager while they still know everything!"

Reminds me: I bought some nice T-shirts during my stay. Got an official Abbey Road, a green Oxford University, and a "Mind the Gap" (London Underground).

Hey Foul, did you know that that statue of Marco Aurelio you photographed has a legend attached to it? Wanna know it? :P

Something to do with photographing it, I assume!
