The art and wrtiting of the Civil War title are excellent; too bad I can't say the same fot the Civil War: Battlefront run....still, this looks like a good crossover, which I thought was impossible.

A panel featuring Namor ripping Stark's helmet off doesn't make me feel too swell.
I'm following the Civil War series. It promises an interesting storyline and the first issue of Civil War is remarkable but time will tell if things develop in an appealing way. I happen to grow a bit weary of scenerios that feature Iron man / Tony Stark as some kind of colossal butt head but it only hurts because I'm such a big fan of the character. I'll get Illuminati to be sure. If nothing else the art is exceptional.

The art's promising. I've just been disappointed (or outright traumatized) before by these crossovers, especially if they have War in the title -- anyone remember the horror that was Secret Wars? War of the Gods? I think there may be a jinx.
The color looks fabulous, though. Coloring has come such a long way.
ETA: I'll probably look at it, if only for Dr. Strange. He's such a terrific character. Why don't they do a Strange movie, huh? *whines*

They did a Strange tv show in the 70's....I don't think anybody's forgiven Marvel for that yet.

Curse me for a novice! I'd forgotten about that.

Heh, I wish I could forget it....well, no, not really. There were a few Spiderman episodes, and the Hulk series, of course....was there one more?

Until the current Spiderman movie franchise, Marvel seemed to be under a bad star as far as getting characters onscreen. The
X-Men script was in development hell for years and years, if memory serves. It was very odd.
Eh, I'm going completely OT here, sorry.

Dear God that Dr. Strange movie was HORRID!!!! I saw it decades ago, and remembered it very fondly. Then I saw that it was on a couple years ago, and taped it. I got excited planning to watch it one night when I wasn't going to have any interruptions. *sigh* I turned it off after maybe a half-hour.
Anyway, Civil War may or may not end up being great. However, it is supposed to be a permanent change in the Marvel Universe, and I believe it will be. The newer writers (Guys like Millar, Bendis, and Straczynski, whom I've mentioned before) have made some huge changes already, and now they're going all out. It's very exciting, imo, and I hope the execution of it is as good as the concept.
