Yeah, Mr. Donaldson showed some great restraint there even though it is obvious he was more than a little peeved. I like it now that we know ONE scenario isn't gonna happen. Yes, and he HAS earned the right to publish the Last Chronicles. He stated many times that he had gotten the ideas for the Las...

A post to Mr. Donaldson in his "Gradual Interview"
Towards the end of the March posts, there is a post hidden by a spoiler warning. Having read and reread "Runes" numerous times, I went ahead and looked at it. I am not sure I could find a more insultive post in the interviews if I tried. I mean, I see what question he was getting at...but ...

My GF has just read all the books in CoTC...and then she saw this. The first thing out of her mouth was "doesn't this guy have any pride?"
She isn't even a rabid fan like me...and she recognizes what has happened here. sad.

Yeah, you are right. It sounds like sour milk, i know...but DAMN. I read the book twice now and everyone here should read this thing...except I really don't want you all to waste your money. It is so similar in syntax..story, etc...quite unbelievable. I have been really temped to go to that guy's we...

Somehow I doubt SRD will find this amusing. Now, he might not mind the obvious and painful "borrowings" but like he has said before....Where is the originality? Like fan fiction..he says he doesn't mind but if you create something new then you get more satisfaction from it. I would quote h...

You know....I finished reading the book and i have to say that even the author's syntax is very similar. I guess it sounds like complaining but really i am not. I mean, when i read phrases like, "the Word-Wielder" and then continues on with his sentances.....all I have to do is supplant di...

Gideon's Dawn
I wanna play a little game and compate a few things. How about on Page 4 where you see a map that looks remarkably similar to maps we are familiar with. Or the first chapter where Gideon Downing faces a nameless foe and devastates the land. Abaddon--"the true name of evil in the Land" He n...

I picked it up and read it. Yes, it is painfully obvious which books he got this idea from.... There IS a lot of Christian content which does make it different. However, considering his other books, that is his "thing". Just because it has Christian content doesn't make it original or diff...

I read that author's forum and it seems that he does not as of yet have a publisher for the next 2 books in the series. His original publisher decided to go in a different direction in their publishing so efforts are being made (or maybe have been by now) to locate another publisher for the next 2 b...

I am not nitpicking...(well maybe I am) In LFB...Covenant and Atiaran were "beseiged" by the storm, right? Covenant, in a rare display of rage shouted at the clouds, "Hellfire! You can't do this to me! Without warning, just as his fury peaked, a huge white flash exploded beside him. H...

Cvenant could never pierce the "moral" block on his own, without a trigger? hasn't happened yet. But I agree that OF COURSE he can. HE is the Wild magic. He needs to learn that his own faults and frailties do not necessarily spell doom for those he loves and cares for . He still fears hims...

I think the Dead at Revelstone being "resurrected" is a different subject than the "shades" of the High Lords and what not. I don't think there is ANY way to "use" Elena or Kevin like they were WITHOUT breaking the Law of Life. My gut feeling is that SRD put that in kno...

I phrased that poorly. When Covenant said the breaking of law of Life allowed him to come back, I didn't mean that he had a choice all along. Until the Law of Life was broken...Covenant COULD NOT interfere in any way. It was only after that Law was broken that TC was able to do what he did. I asked ...

She definately can. The Staff of law is very powerful...and even more so the new Staff as Linden said the new Staff was basically limited only by the person who wields it. No, in "normal" times the Staff was used to jelp heal and create things, etc. Matter of fact, in "TIW" you s...

Ouch. very good questions indeed!!!! I firmly believe that if you are Dead...you are a spectator. You can be made to leave, or to appear...but you cannot intervene or take action. COvenant clearly says that the breaking of the law of Life allowed him to take action instead of just being a spectator,...

Sure, i read that also. But the meaning I take from it is simply that the venom does not "increase" the Wild Magic's power. Covenant tells Linden that the Ring is difficult to use "morally". Which means that Covenant himself provides the reason he cannot unleash the full abilitie...

The venom in Covenant did nothing to affect the White Gold EXCEPT to allow Covenant to use the Wild Magic extravagantly...in the desire that the more Covenant uses the Wild Magic he will become so powerful and unable to control the White Golf that he will destroy the Arch of Time in the simple act o...

The original question was "what does the Staff of Law do?" The Staff SUPPORTS the natural Order of Earthpower. Without it, the earthpower is that much more unable to resist various powers set loose upon it. (I.E. maybe Kevin's Dirt, etc) Also, the Weilder of the Staff of Law can shape and ...

I am not positive that SRD will "recall" Covenant from an ealier time at all. IF he did so then it would HAVE to be from the Second Chronicles or he would not know Avery. (actually...considering my feelings towards Avery that is not a bad idea...GO SRD) I have a sinking feeling that he wil...
