Delurking... WOW! Whether or not SRD is my favorite author, I must say that Fatal Revenant was one of the books I awaited most eagerly. But after reading it, I admit to agreeing some with Arenn. FR struck me as total fanwank. I mean, teasing us with a Covenant, back in time to meet Berek and Damelon...

Sidekicks, yeah, well, both the Doctor and Covenant had those companions with the *squick* relationship issues, don't they? Covenant and Elena - ewww... The Doctor and Rose - yuck... And the sidekicks are dumb enough to drink the Earthblood, look into the TARDIS, break the Law of Death... (There see...

Doctor Who and the Ritual of Desecration [DW spoilers]

In the last episode of the first season of the new DW, the Doctor is sort of in Kevin's...

Wow, I'm not the only one who put 4 syllables in "Raederle"?

Ah well, too late for me to change the voice in my head.

And what about Lois Bujold? Great world-building, and fast-paced space opera and character foo on top of it. And agree with whoever mentioned Gene Wolfe. Brilliant short stories, too. And great early clone speculation. Ursula K. LeGuin, Dan Simmons, Jack Vance, Dave Zindelll And a lot of people who ...

Wow, I just discovered this forum recently, and here you are discussing another of my favorite authors/books. :D I always felt McKillip and SRD had some similarities in their writing - the distinctive way they pick their words (though SRD seems to fling them about more violently), the emphasis on th...

Hello

Hi folks! I read the 1st & 2nd Chron. of TC way back when the 2nd Chron. were new, and remember at the time reading in some fantasy/sf art book that SRD planned for a 2nd and a 3rd/last Chron. So after WGW I waited...waited...waited... thought he'd given up the idea... (I read the Gap... books b...
