good news imo. no film could even come close to the depth & true spirit of any of the TC books.

Things have certainly slowed down on the SRD website and the GI. I have to admit that I'm disappointed b/c I was learning so much from what he was sharing with us, but I'm also glad b/c that means that he's working on the secret project that he mentioned several weeks ago, and perhaps he's also wor...

i think i was in jr. high. i am 36 now and only the 1st triology was out then. even if a person is too young to grasp many of the subtle parts of the books (not to mention the verbiage which is still sometimes challenging), the story and characters are still extremely unique and wonderful. they were...

i hope Tuvor is correct (except i believe SDR said there will be 4 books this time instead of 3). if so, each book would be around 325 pages. this seems a little thin compared to the previous 6 but perhaps SDR thinks 4 books instead of 3 will make it easier to get a publisher(more books = more $$). ...

Other than SRD, I really like Dennis Mckiernan's Mithgar series. It started out as a Tolkien clone but is much better than JRR's work imo. I also liked Terry Brooks first 4 Shannara books. I wasn't too impressed with the second Shannara series and haven't started the 3rd yet but the first set is a c...

news??
just wondering- is there any official news on the 3rd & final chronicals? i've read a few second hand reports but i wonder how far he really is on this very exciting project. one would think that if he were writing them (especially after SO long between books), there would be more info about it....

personally, i would hate to see them try to make the TC books into a movie. i can't see how they would convey the emotion and depth of the books in a movie of any length let alone one limited to 3 hours. just look what they did to LOTR. they are fine films but lack even the limited depth and history...
