I think SRD writes books in the same way that Giants tell stories; perhaps their love of stories is based on his love of writing. Hmmm......... Whatever the case may be, the wait is painful. I know it will be worth it, but it's hard to see it that way right now.

Didn't take me long to develop the addiction. I was hopelessly an addict about halfway through the first book. I don't know what on earth I will have to look forward to when the tenth book is done. Yes, I have read SRD's other works, except short stories published in magazines and such. I need to go...

Interesting question, and answers equally interesting, that we are all here in the forums of TCTC and so many lovers of white gold just happen to be members. How great is THAT??? I'm 50 and haved loved the white metals since jewelry came into my life 40 years ago. However, I prefer platinum, and alt...

Good question, Relayer. It's not ever mentioned, Foul's name while on the Council. What would he refer to himself as? Does he call his own self Foul or the Despiser? I can't recall. If there is any retro stuff in Revenant and beyond, perhaps these things will be revealed. I'd love to see more on the...

Hello, surrender, congratulations on starting on the Thomas Covenant books. Just for background, I read the first three in the late 70's, the next set as soon as they were written (waiting was torture), and now am chomping to read the second book of the final set, the Last Chronicles. I have read th...

Glad the speech went well for you. These books are for a more mature audience, I think, than the dragon/fairy/elf-type books. SRD has spoiled me for anything else in this genre. I tried the Pern series and just couldn't get into it. I have tried to tell friends about these books. I get odd looks eve...

Fist and Faith!!! Comedians in The Land!!! I detect a "gobbet" of Covenant-ish sarcasm there... (Sorry, reading fifth book again and ran across this word just last night. It struck me as hilarious for some reason.......)

Bravo, Relayer! It was Sunder during the time of his, TC's and LA's escape from Mithil Stonedown. He was having a really difficult time believing that aliantha was not poison, among other things. His entire life and the way he lived it was being thrown out the window by TC and he was frantic, distra...

I found out by accident that there was a 3rd chronicles. I would never have known had they not built a fancy new library in my town, which I joined, and did an online search of SRD. I almost screamed out loud in the library when I saw Runes, and that is was a continuation of the TC story. I don't kn...

I'm just too impatient. The cliffhanger at the end of Runes did me in. Worse by far than ANY TV series cliffhanger EVER. You don't have to wait 3 YEARS to see where THOSE end. And tentative dates put the other books at 3 years apart, too??? Jeez, I'm not getting any younger!!!! SRD will be, what, in...

The Bloodguard are known as Masters in ROTE, but I don't know anything about them guarding Mithil Stonedown. I checked the book out from the libr...

I'm a newbie, so excuse my ignorance. Please enlighten me and comfort the poverty of my comprehension. Why do so many post-ers seem to hate Linden? I don't HATE her, but I think her presence detracts from the plot with TC as the central character and hero. It would have been better, and more consist...

Well, darn it. I am reading these books right NOW and I would have SWORN it said seven years. Question about Roger's age

I'm a bit confused. I have skimmed through some of the ROTE posts, but cannot possibly read all of them, and a search brings up thousands of hits that I also don't have time to read all of. So, here's my confusion; in the discussion where TC is explaining to Linden about Joan taking Roger and leavin...

Well, this forum hasn't seen any action in many turnings of the moon, and I doubt I'll get it stirred up again (perhaps there are thousands of forums otu there about sports, and you don't expect to find one on a site like this). But I'll give it a try. It's NFL season again and that's the only sport...
