I have to add a thing or two....."There is Hope in contradiction"...I've always likes that one...also the one about "There's only one way to hurt a man who has lost everything....give him back something broken..."....but the Ultimate Quote ( at least to me) is...."We suffice...

We have words in the story and in the Gradual Interview that Foul summoned Covenant and Linden in the second chronicles. Not anyone else. Jeremiah merely helped provide some of the power. Second, we also have words in the story and in the text that when you're dead in the real world, you don't have...

Probably, but he won't get the chance. I don't intend to fail SRD as a reader. I'll re-read FR for the whatevereth time ( a chore of love, anyway!), and keep you posted (literally).

I really thought I answered this question near the end of Fatal Revenant. If you haven't read that far, I really shouldn't say anything more......But, if you've reached the end of FR, and your question remains, post it again. SRD...........that's his exact response.

So, SRD finally responded to this thread question directly. Essentially, he states that the answer to the question lies within "Fatal Revenant" somewhere towards the end. So, at the risk of being too hard on myself, the answer IS in the text, and I was/am simply "too stupid to see it ...

Yes, but it won't be due to any effort to save her son. LA will be outraged to discover that "I have your son" does not mean anything like kidnapping. It is a double entendre, meaning just the opposite of what she thinks: that LF has won Jeremiah over, and he has joined forces with LF. ......

Fouls is going to win it all. He will slay Jeremiah in LA's presence, use two Ravers to possess her for all eternity as Linden Foul-wife ("I shall gladly mark myself upon flesh such as yours") The Arch is destroyed, TC is finally killed once and for all, and The Last Dark occupies all Time...

That's like asking which chapter of one book is better than another chapter in the same book. It's a mistake to judge them "out of context".

TC & LF are simply two sides of the same coin (at least to TC). Perhaps TC "merges" with LF as the only real means to successfully "bottle Foul up"once and for all, and for all eternity. Joan dies, but somehow/someway cedes the ring willfully to somebody else (and it happens ...

Something else to perhaps keep in mind, is the fact that Infelice kept bitchinh & moaning about how both TC's previous victories over LF were "partial and ambiguoius". She was particulary ragging on LA about this topic as it pertained to the ending of the Second Chronicles. That, and o...

It was so disdainfully crushed by the croyel, that I don't think he views it as such, though Linden might be able to use it to reclaim Jeremiah's mind. ...............Maybe, but Jeremiah never played with any of his toy cars. But when Roger kidnapped him, either Jeremiah grabbed one off the shelf f...

Both the Land & the Earth will be destroyed, but somehow it will be redeemed & "brought back to life" somehow. LF is flat-out killed this time, not merely defeated. It was stated in the text that if the Arch were ruptured while LF doesn't wield his own wild magic "directly&quo...

I do wonder about Jeremiahs little red toy car. What's the significance? Is it the talisman of his power, just as white gold is the talisman of the wild magic? Or is he holding on to it for dear life for a much simpler reason? Personally, I doubt the second guess, simply because nothing is ever that...

Re: The Despiser's Intent.

Is Foul manipulating Roger simply to force Covenant into having to kill his own son ? ...with the larger goal being - what, exactly? Think of it like a back up plan, if the Worm is not awakened by Covenant, (Im begining to think it can sleep through anything) then Joan still has a chance because sh...

Such details are not only unnecessary to the story being told, they would be counterproductive by virtue of excessive fixation on such things. As an example, who cares about how exactly people "go to the bathroom" in the Land? Lastly, too much detail can clutter up & slow down a book v...

I sincerely hope SRD doesn't come in here and read some of these threads....lol I believe he doesn't.. becuase he stated(I think form the GI) it would add things to his books. But if he did, he could rewrite the Chronicles as a lampoon feature. The "Mad Magazine" satire version, whether t...

No need to re-read the First Chrons. Start with the Second, then do Runes & FR again. SRD himself has said the 2nd Chrons contain a fair amount of backdoors & loose threads that directly tie into the Last Chrons. Think about the Elohim (specifically Findail & his stories).
