I've always thought that SRD was an Adept at writing himself into corners... and a Master at wriggling his way out of them.

I think the interbreeding school of thought has been losing currency of late.

It's likely a combination of factors; interbreeding, interspecies "war," competition for limited resources, global guano-rich housing crisis.

It's one small shred of evidence in support of one recent Human ancestor killing one Neandertal. Who knows? We may have been instumental in the demise of the Neandertals, and if it can somehow be proven conclusively, so be it. Meanwhile, the Bashing of Humankind as the Bane of All Existence proceeds...

Not Lord Foul, I hope. :paranoid: Who is the structures, traps and door builder? Ahhhh. *BINGO* Got it. That will be a very interesting devolment if it is so. "easy"? You have nothing to base that on. I said "didn't have much of a problem," not "easy." But yes (or no),...

The same applies to inane theories about aliens or mole people or whoever building the pyramids. It's almost a kind of racism. "Those primitive bastards could never find the wherewithal to build the pyramids; erect the Easter Island statues; carve giant heads in Central America; raise Stoneheng...

I wonder where the voice-propelled boat that Covenant and Elena later use to cross the underground lake came from. Put in place by Damelon too? I know that without Damelon's Door, anyone wandering around down there would be lost forever, but still, all Damelon's precautions against anyone stumbling ...

The Acme AND nadir of my actual career as a musician came in the mid eighties when our band got a gig at the Mpls. premier musical venue, First Avenue. (Though it had a different name at the time.) The Artist Formerly Known as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince was in the audience, and we were extr...

That's an interesting question! Indeed. The arrogant and obnoxious sixteen-year-olds and those of us indistinguishable from arrogant and obnoxious sixteen-year-olds are still hashing it out. :) Just be prepared to experience a lot of pain; the main character suffers . I'm sorry to say US readers of Steven have really got the s***y end of the stick with the covers, the UK covers are pretty good IMO, i like them, both the old style, and the new ones. I'd feel patronised and a tad humililated having the generic covers forced upon me. The soft covers of the two late...

The US gov and NASA wanted the event would be aired on TV. Therefor it was important to have good and impressive pictures. The problem with this idea is that the television picture from the Moon was, in fact, horrible. Though I've no doubt that the Moon landings were genuine. Conspiracy theories ar...

Didn't click on the link to the story, so I don't know if it's in there, but when Cronkite stepped down from anchoring CBS news, someone said that it was like George Washington leaving the dollar bill.

Now that he's passed on, Cronkite's face deserves to be on a coin, at least.

I think we all have that 'skill' to push people away to some degree. Some people use arrogance to push people away, some become a martyr. Either way isolates us and places us alone on a pedestal. It all boils down to selfishness. Putting oneself at the center of the Universe at one or another extre...
