As far as I remember, it was specifically mentioned that ur-vile skin didn't reflect light. I'll look for a quote. It doesn't guarantee it should be the same for Vain, but most likely this quality is inherited from the ur-viles. Mmmm, I'm going to have to try and eliminate the reflection to see how...

" his skin from head to foot was as black as the gaps between the stars. His form was perfectly shaped and strong; but his hair was black, his teeth and gums were black, his pupil less eyes were pure midnight." As far as I remember, it was specifically mentioned that ur-vile skin didn't r...

I like this wicked grin image of Vain.
Well done.
thanks mick, for me, the grin was the thing that struck me the most when I first read TC, I imagined it as a "disturbing" grin and in this image I think it is. thanks again.

Thanks. I cannot draw such a disproportionate couple with an entirely serious face, hence the little line down there. ;) I just showed this to one of my RL friends and her only comment was "You're impossible". We both cracked up. Ahem.... Anyone here good at pointing out anatomi...

There's been some talk further on this thread about T-shirts and the like...also me asking whether KW's other artists might be interested in joining forces. Just PM'ed Vain, we'll see when this enterprise starts properly rolling. XD How does one contact SRD these days, though? I recall reading that...

ZORM I've been to that site a couple of times during the past few weeks--have looked at various bases and packs and props (found Michael too), and can appreciate the complexity of this medium much, much better now. ;) The recent Foamfollower piece is one of your best works in my opinion--could I as...

ZORM I've been thinking about a multiple character image like Covenent a and Bannor fighting the urviles, I haven't fouind one yet. but actually, all of the characters you see are all the same model DAZ M3 (michael) except Foamfollower, he is the upgrade M4 (michael). The trick (and raw computer pow...

A bit too glossy There can be various tones of black to define features. Maybe looking at various people whos skin tone is extremely dark might give a perspective on how to define Vain. " his skin from head to foot was as black as the gaps between the stars. His form was perfectly shaped and s...

I'll give you a [perfect example. My wife read the series starting with the first one. The main objection to re-reading it she says is because he is a miserable human being. It's not only the rape, he's a very negative guy and throughout the books just when you think he might have some socially rede...

I couldn't put it down. when I finished I picked up the first one just to catch up and couldn't wait to find the third. Glad I did ...

Very nice indeed. I've always pictured Vain more Gorilla like and less humanoid. and I always pictured him slim with ur-vile features and no clothing but in the book it clearly says; Found this by "wayfriend" "In The Wounded Land was wrote: He wore a short gray tunic, and under it al...

Oh, these are so good :) And you did the background yourself as well? Maybe you could make something like a general view on a Dromond, please? I really wanted to but this particular "ship" is only a portion of a deck and can only be viewed from limited angles. I've included the original. ...
