Im sure there exist radical christians and others who still literally believe in every biblical word as directions to adhere to. Of course how do you deal with the exigencies of literary conflict and contradictions 🤷‍♀️ .. well apologists do their part.. the convenience of individual or institution...

EDIT: Funny that you should mention Southern Baptists. I find that they are pretty typical of Evangelical Christians in general. That happens to be a huge segment of the Christian population in America. In fact, that group has a stranglehold on the GOP, giving us idiots like Rick Sanitorium or what...

I just read somewhere on this forum that someone went to an Elohimfest, and SRD seemed "unfriendly." Plus I've heard that he's pretty opposed to merchandise for his books in general (which I don't entirely blame him for not wanting a movie since movies usually end up butchering the story)....

I used to play some Ankama games but stopped. I just haven't deleted Steam from my computer yet, and it always pops up every time I reboot.

Now I just focus on school, read books, and of course my watch hobby (hence the Blue YM in the desktop image).

Thats interesting Nano. Our experiences are clearly quite different. One of the things I admire of a number of Muslim friends is their worship, their attention to cleanliness .. literal cleanliness, their reverence of what they deem purity of worship .. they use very similar scriptures to Christian...

There have been big wars between the Christian and Muslim worlds in the distant past, and pretty good ones recently against IS. As well as IS against other Muslim groups. And Muslims vs Isreal. And, and, and... I'm sure all this will continue. You can always cast aside your false idols and worship ...

Best Stephen King Short Story Collections

In y'alls opinion, what are the best collections of Stephen King short stories? Currently, I have "Full Dark, No Stars" and "The Bazaar of Bad Dreams." I've thought about getting "Just After Sunset," but I have read mixed reviews on it.

That crime is just part of a general trend in developed nations where more and more laws are created. Basically, it's getting to the point where most of the country are potential criminals. The whole idea that all citizens can theoretically know the law is now false. If you have to consult with an e...

Maybe SRD doesn't want everyone to know about the darker stuff in his other works? The Real Story has a lot of disturbing rape and beating scenes...about half of the novella. Nowadays, that would generate a royal shitstorm and possibly ruin his career if certain people made enough of an outrage over...

The coolest object I've ever seen in the sky was a meteor that was glowing with a green penumbra as it burned up in the atmosphere. I've never seen a UFO. Also, just going to say that I do believe it is very likely that life exists in some form or another elsewhere in the universe due to 1) the abun...

Reading the Second Chronicles

Hi, I am currently reading The One Tree, and I have to say that the second chronicles have blown my mind so far. I didn't expect to enjoy the second trilogy more than the first, but I am enjoying it more so far. I am only within the first several chapters, and I the adventure aboard the ship is very...

Just came here to vent a bit. Took a final and scored just below passing. It was a particularly tough exam (out of two total in the class), and since I didn't do so hot on the first test, I will fail the class. This means I will have to remediate the course over the "summer" (in reality a...

This season's vaccine seems to have a low efficacy for adults, unfortunately. We are required to be vaccinated for the flu every year, but a few classmates have still gotten pretty sick from it. Personally, I avoid the flu by avoiding crowds of people when it's not necessary to be around others (lik...
