What Do You Think Today?

Likewise, I pretty much agree with what you said above there. :D I must just add though that by legal definition, "genocidal actions" can be carried out against portions of populations, and that I do not think it a stretch too far to consider Israel's actions against the Palestinians in Ga...

IS Math Real?

Something I've been thinking a lot about lately but only barely touch on in the paper I published is that everything is as real as it needs to be in that framework. Whatever you believe to be true is true, within boundaries to be established by experiment and experience. Also, Is that thing you jus...

What Do You Think Today?

Apparently the veterinarians association had previously determined that nitrogen was too inhumane to be used in the euthanasia of animals...and it took 22 minutes for him to die... --- In other news, I watched the ICJ judgement on the SA v Israel genocide case, and glad as I was to see that the ICJ ...

What was the condition for letting Morn go that Nick imposed on her once she awoke from her "catatonia" on the way to Billingsgate?

..and the nation formed in response to that most awful of crimes against humanity is itself engaging in behaviour against another group of people that it of all people should understand... I know, right? This has been a source of bafflement to me even before the current conflict...that a people so ...

What fantasy/science fiction book are you reading RIGHT NOW?

Maintained? Pfft, things only get better from GoTM. And the only time I don't think DHG is the best book of the series is when I'm reading the next one, Memories of Ice . You'd better hie yourself to the Malazan forum and let us vicariously re-live the pleasure of discovering them for the first time...

Not for nothing has it been termed "the first live-streamed genocide."

What fantasy/science fiction book are you reading RIGHT NOW?

I think I may take a re-read of one of my favourite old fantasy series, Weiss & Hickmann's "Rose of the Prophet." Starting with Vol 1, The Will of the Wanderer.

(I've always loved the (heavily DND inspired) religious system in it.)

Personally, I've always found mushrooms sovereign (haha) for clearing the head. Not so much their gathering of course, but surely he wouldn't be wasting them either... :D

What are you reading in general?

Well, definitely recommended. (And I loved Much Ado......My grandmother dragged a very reluctant young me to go and watch it, and I ended up laughing my ass off. :D )

What Do You Think Today?

Well, I must say that I did find our case rather compelling, although I was surprised that it was us who brought it. Of course, it is an election year and the ruling party has slipped significantly, although nowhere near decisively, in the poll estimates, so boosting the image etc. can only be a goo...

Nevermind I found the Laborium ;) Yeah, that's still a work in progress, (restoring all the gallery images I mean). More will be added back in coming (weeks?) :D Can't do anything about externally hosted stuff obviously, but I will get back to re-posting gallery images. (Just FYI, since I'm having ...

What Do You Think Today?

It's hardly surprising given the pressure that the current moral outrage over the Horizon scandal is causing in the media (better late than never), and similarly, as a result of the drama, people really seem to be taking on board the full extent (and seriousness) of what has happened. I was gonna s...
