I had a dream recently about a fish tank with sand and small plants instead of water and fish. Each plant grew around an amazingly exquisite cut emerald, as if the stones were the seeds from which the plants had grown.

I felt sure the dream had something to do with clarity of thought on some subject or other, but not knowning what that was. I'm also sure the dream was connected to the fact of having a bonsia kit I've been keeping unopened untill spring ...

I've never been much good at interpreting my dreams unless they're pretty obvious. (Is crashing a posh soirée in my Star Trek uniform just the geek version of dreaming you're at work naked?) I am curious as to where the transition would have led me - these dreams almost always happen right before my alarm goes off, so they usually get interrupted.

So last night in my dream there was a nine-piece jigsaw. One of the pieces, which fitted fine, was actually from a differant jigsaw.

This had to do with working in a second-hand shop, (it continually surprises me just how many jigsaws we sell each week).
The other cause of the dream has to do with some ideas I'd been having about who the meek were, in the Beatitudes of Matthew 5.

The obscure meaning of the word meek is defined as, gentle. Which I like. But more modern meanings of the word will include, submissive, or deficient in spirit and courage, [a groveller]. Which I don't like.

So which definition was Jesus refering?
It was this question that had caused the dream. However I'm not sure if I found an answer while dreaming!

That seems like the wrong question to ask? Better to interrogate the translation to "meek" from the original language, and what meanings the original word held, than question the English based on definitions that have shifted since the translation was done.

That's a good point. Though I might imagine the original meaning is closer to the obsolete English.

What I failed to write earlier was the origin of the idea of, "inheriting the earth". Something I thought profound at the time: whether this inheritence be, public transport, a library, a cinema, a church, a river, a forest, a mountain, the earth; seemed to me like a possible wisdom, if not for the stigma added to the word meek, ie grovelling for it!
This to me was the importance behind the dreaming and not the exact definition of meekness.

The nine piece jigsaw is interesting to me as well because of there being eight Beatitudes. A number I was not consciously aware of at the time of defining a meaning to what might be an earthly inheritance.

cheers!

I had a dream I was hired by Marvel comics to write a Punisher comic that I will post about in comics.

Marvel moved me and Julie back to New Hampshire, in Lebanon. we lived along the river.

in the comic, the Punisher fights nazis along with Union Jack (England) and Red Guardian (Russia) the fight the Hate-Monger (Hitler's brain in a cloned body.) and Master Man. (nazi version of Superman.

That's fascinating, sgt.null. And concise, yeah!
Where those dreams in color? I wonder.

In the dream I had, the odd piece of the jigsaw was orange. After puzzling over this for some time, (I'd only just bought that very day a small t-light candle holder made in India from tiny pieces of orange glass), I concluded this had something to do with my thinking on the possible number of thought cavities there are in the human psyche - based on some reading I had been doing from Roberto Assaglio's psychosynthesis, and his map of the human mind.

 I need to read more comics!

I had a nightmare about my boss scheduling me to work 16 hours a day, 7 days a week for the rest of the year.

And then realized (in the dream) that it was a dream because he'd never authorize that much overtime.

Work nightmares are the worst.

I dreamed last night that a fly was buzzing around in the dark, bumping and knocking against my head. In the dream I had to get up and turn on the light. When I looked under my pillow the fly was lying on it's back playing possum. There was lots of crumbs and fluff and bits of cellophane under the pillow as well.

[I'm sure the dream meant that there was something that needed tidying up. Something obscure, somewhere in the back of my mind. Whatever it is, I've yet to find out!
I also found the dream odd because that evening I'd tidied up the flat, vacuumed, and put clean sheets on the bed.]

In Dreamwork -
my pocket watch was on the bookshelf above the headboard and had slid off and knocked me right on the bridge of the nose. I was lucky, because the pocket watch had been open with a lump of pyrite used as a weight to sit the watch upright. On placing it back on the shelf the ticking sound then began to keep me awake. So I snapped it closed and then fell asleep. [The buzzing fly was probably a representation of the ticking sound. The pocket watch having something to do with Kevinswatch - something I might have thought oddly puzzling and mildly irritating]. The piece of pyrite I found the next morning lying on the floor [might possibly, and more excitingly, represent any detritus that happens to be lurking in the back of the mind, echoed and looped into my avatar].

Conclusion: Spending way too much time on Kevinswatch. Time for a rest.

Yeah, I had a dream last night (or rather, this morning) I was hanging out with Cameraman Jenn and Aliantha. I remember very little other than I was enjoying myself chatting with them. My dreams can be so boring sometimes. No wild shootout, no scary clown sightings, no drug deals gone bad, no zombie apocalypse...just chatting. But I did have a sense of peace and joy when I awoke, at least before the nasty headache kicked in.

I have two main types of nightmare. The first one usually involves some form of scifi dystopian weirdness, the second usually involves some form of being late for work. Sometimes I get both at once.

I hate when I'm late for my dystopian nightmare. And speaking of nightmares, I dreamed I was bitten by snakes last night. I used to frequently have snake dreams, especially as a kid, but was never bitten by them. It was usually just big piles of snakes moving around and I'd have to walk through them to get away. And this was before Raiders came out, which is why the initial scene with the snakes freaked me out. Straight out of these nightmares.

I guess every dream can't be about winning the lottery or kicking the game winning field goal. Then there's the flying dream that is suspiciously similar to swimming underwater. And the dream when you are back in high school and you can't remember your locker number or the combination and you have no idea what class you are supposed to be in and then the bell rings and you are left standing in the middle of an empty hall feeling like you are in deep crap.

I actually had a dream about winning the lottery last night, which was weird because that's actually not a theme that pops up very often in my dreams. It did make waking up and having to go to work a bit disappointing, but I had a whole night of weird dreams, most of which I don't remember very well. I do remember one about going to check my mailbox - it was at night, I was carrying a lantern, and neither the mailbox nor the building it was attached to resembled any place I have ever lived. I did have a lot of mail, and most of it was badly damaged - possibly by a very large dog or a bear. The only piece that wasn't damaged was a letter from my grandmother, which wasn't postmarked - it had just been dropped straight into the box. I didn't want to open it, because my grandmother has been dead for several years, and she never had anything nice to say to me when she was alive. At the same time, I was curious about what the letter said, because who wouldn't be? So I kept putting it down and picking it back up, and my trepidation kept increasing because I knew it was going to be something bad and I was going to regret opening it, but I had to know.... And then I woke up.

The theme of my dreams that I remember typically is hanging out with some celebrity that I respect and simply relaxing around them as if they were an old friend. I don't know why I've been dreaming that a lot lately, since I never had a similar dream to this until the last 5 years or so.

I had an odd dream last night. Actually it wasn't the dream that was odd ... there were two cats, a ginger tabby and a black'n'white tom, both were meowing and pawing at my bedroom door, (I don't have a bedroom door). The door had a large crack with orange light breaking through, as if the cats had been clawing at it. I went to open the door for them but heard a snoozing sound from within. At first I thought it was a small animal, but then decided it was me, and so left the door closed.

Dreamwork - I was at the vicarage last night and the vicar has four cats. One is a ginger tabby who I'm told is a rarity. Even the vet had checked her as a kitten several times just to make sure she wasn't a tom. One of the other three cats was a black'n'white tom.

Conclusion:
(The odd thing was that when I arrived at the church for work this morning and was locking up my push-bike the vicar's black'n'white cat suddenly appeared from nowhere and scrambled onto the garden shed. I'm not really sure if I spooked the cat. It looked at me wide-eyed for a moment then bounded over the other side and was gone.)
So, really cool coincidence seeing the black'n'white cat that morning as I very rarely see any of her cats around the back of the church.

Had a dream about my apartment flooding, which makes sense because that happened exactly a year ago, though I hadn't thought about that until now. Like most sequels, Floodageddon 2.0 was worse than the original, and included all the scenes with my landlord not answering his phone, and my boss not answering his phone, because why not not put it into the Late For Work genre? It also featured a complete stranger standing in the middle of the room criticizing everything I was doing and making passive/aggressive remarks about how I should maybe do something about all the water. I yelled at him and he vanished, and I realized it was a dream because that sort of thing rarely works in real life.
