I find that I have quite a few "flying" dreams. Its the same sensation as swimming underwater but like floating through the air with purpose. Kind of cool.

I keep dreaming I'm Natalie Portman.....
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion

I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

I have never dreamt I was in the Land. Has anyone of you?

(I remember really trying to dream about the Land when I was a kid - it was the first thought in the evening and the first thought I had when I woke up in the morning. No success.)

I don't usually remember any of my dreams, but I have had two very vivid ones about Elohimfest in the last few months. 8) That was sort of fun! :)

Yeah, I used to try that too, long ago. And sadly, it didn't work. :(

Maybe I'll try again.

I dream of death. Sometimes my own.

Tornados come to kill me.
Men dressed smartly in dark suits.
Demons, Darkness, and nukes.
Sometimes, when it is especially terrible,
I'll visit the vents.

I grew up in a large house & the heat registers had grills over them. One day I lost a kazoo through one of the vents & for a long time it lay there, but it seemed like it was slowly getting farther away. Every time I passed by the vent, I would look through the grill & see it's color. But one day that stopped too. Years later, I got a screwdriver & opened the grill and saw the kazoo way back in there. I reached and could barely touch it. I could just roll it a little bit with one finger. Roll, roll, roll, and then it went the other way and fell with finality into the vertical drop toward the furnace in the basement. Many years later, I would think of how strange it was that it had moved away. This was a heating vent; air moved out from it.

Around the time when I'd lost the kazoo, my older brothers played a trick on me. They routed a speaker wire from in the basement, through a vent, to the living room, and attached it to a speaker. From their reel to reel, they recorded me from a speaker they had placed behind the couch to work as a makeshift microphone. It caught the noise from the television like blurred vision & my own voice as well. Eventually, when they thought they had enough recorded, they called me downstairs into the basement where they lay in wait for me. "Over here", they called. And trusting, I came further and further into the basement. Then one of them pulled the main-power switch to the fuse box and the other one hit play 1/4 speed and they both started screaming. Wirrrr, wirrrr, my voice and the television called out, bleeding together with my fear, my fear enhanced by the apparent fact that my brothers were also scared of this unseen threat, this attack. For years I dreamed of floating into the basement, down to the screams, to the growling, groaning, of the creature that was myself.

Eventually the vents became part of my dreams. There were secret passages in the house, secret rooms that I could visit. Everything upstairs was good, including the attic. The main floor was nuetral. The basement and the many floors below, they were not good. Places of rats and spiders, and things in the dark (for it was always dark) that were never seen but always around a corner or in the shadow... waiting.

That is one of the most fascinating posts I've read in a while, Zeph. Strangely, I can relate. Something about the heater vents in my old house held a dark fascination for me as well. The noise they made, or the way they'd carry faint echoes from other parts of the house, or just thinking about their dark, labrynthine depths. Then for years we couldn't afford to buy natural gas, cutting our own firewood instead, so they just sat unused. Somehow that increased my disquietude around them, as if I wasn't the only one that missed shrouding myself in a blanket over the vent.

I've never had a dream about the vents of that house, though. In every dream I have about a house, however, that house is always the one.

Thanks Syl.

It's funny, in a way. I suppose that if I were one of my brothers I would have thought it was a great plan to scare the little kid.

I remember another dream I used to have. Everyone in the family was a circular object, like a record or a ball of yarn. Each one a different size. So I consumed my little sister and this made me larger than my older sister. So I consumed her & this made me larger than my brother, so I consumed him and on & on until I destroyed the whole family. But then I was alone & it was a terrible lonliness that went on and on & I couldn't take it back.

I had a dream last night that this lady died on a hill by my house. They were putting her in a truck to take her away and the truck broke. So two people had to carry the casket. But one had to leave. The last person couldn't carry her ad the box broke open and they just left the body face down on the street. It was awful.

That's an odd dream. I like it though.

I wish there was a better way to convey how dreams make us feel. Emotions seem to press down on us in nightmares. They have physical weight! It's incredible. So when you talk of this dream, I know that it must have felt so awkward & you may have wondered with anger why they were leaving and you might have felt great pity for the woman and much sorrow for her family should they have to see her like that. But its hard to say all those things & still be concise.

No, not very pleasant: injected with mutagen, being trapped on Angus' ship.

Well, a few nights ago I acctually dreamt (finally!!! All the years I have tried!) about the Land. "Unfortunately" most of you were there also... (I must send a picture of what Darth looked like to him, he was hilarious - see that is what will happen to you if you dont have any pics of yourself in the album - people start making up what you look like, and that is not always very nice :D )

Anyway, it was the date of the Elohim fest and everybody gathered in a green walley in the land. Those that were in the US or Oz at the time managed to get back to the Land in time. We all had to build a small wodden wagon which we thereafter all sat in while it was rolling down to a small lake. Behind us on the wagon we had a shark. I dont know why. Luckily I woke up before it ate us as we plummited into the water.

Weird. I probably ate too much the evening before.

That sounds amusing, except for the shark, that's just plain silly :P I've been trying to dream of something specific recently, but I haven't managed it yet :P

I dreamt Duchess and Joy had got Jay to create a new subforum. This one was flaming members of the watch instead of doing it in other threads. So I flamed Darth.
Then Jay creates an ALT+255 forum because he's sick of me writing it in other threads.
Weird.

I finally managed that dream I was striving for 8)

You know, Ur-Vile...I used to be a member of a site that had a flaming forum; they called it Dissed  It made things worse, so no-one get any ideas! :P
