Caught this latest James Bond outing the other day, and contrary to the somewhat negative reviews thought it the best Daniel Craig Bond film to date. Still retaining the gritty hardness of the last two Craig offerings, the movie seemed to me at least, to have a feel slightly more akin to some of the older [think Roger Moore] movies. Craig did his usual Bond stuff, but the films first [pre theme-song] set-piece and the follow up in Mexico City, had a very definite older-style feel to them. Fasbender was a suitably evil villain and the french lass [forgive me for not remembering her name] performed the role as his main lady-friend to good effect. I struggle with a Q young enough to be my grand-son, but thats just coz I'm so much older now so it was always going to happen. Feinnes slipped into the M role, with the usual disaproval cum grudging respect for Bond carried on as per norm. All in all a damn good couple of hours of fun viewing. It ain't going to take over the World, but a good fist all round!

I enjoyed the film for many of the same reasons.
I am guessing what negative comments that were made were at least partially to do with comparing the film to its immediate predecessor which set the bar unusually high.

I liked it.

It was both a throwback and a reinvention. That, and a bangin opening scene.

Worked for me.

I have found Mr. Craig to be a thoroughly enjoyable Bond; it is a shame, though, that he seems to dislike the role now and has hinted that he wants out of the franchise. *shrug* Strangely, I haven't actually seen the film yet so I suppose I will have to rent it or buy it in the near future.
