ALDI brand... but this time I had whole milk in it. Mmmm.
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor
"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"

What is ALDI Linna? We have a chain supermarket of that name and they do good produce: is that what you refer to?
Meanwhile, I have a KENCO machine at work that uses whole roast beans, which I have to put in to a hopper occasionally. I'm going to grind some in a pestle and mortar and see if I can actually produce a decent brew in a cafetiere rather than the milky frothy slop the machine churns out.

Your politicians screwed you over and you are suprised by this?

Costa Frothy Latte - machine brewed with sugar. As putrid a mugful of slop as I have ever thrown down the drain in all my years.........

Saintsbury's Gold Blend freeze dried instant. Cup and spoon brewed with a splash of semi-skimmed milk. Not bad - not bad at all!

Yes... I meant "bought at the supermarket ALDI"!peter wrote:What is ALDI Linna? We have a chain supermarket of that name and they do good produce: is that what you refer to?
Technically, I'm not sure if they are the only ones who sell "Daily Basics." (just looked at the brand name on the label of my current can of coffee.)
Here in the states, I think they're not as good about produce in comparison with... random ethnic grocery stores.
Most recent coffee: more of ALDI's brand with 2% milk.
(do you guys have 'skimmed,' 'semi-skimmed,' and 'whole' as the categories for milk you buy?)

Coffee is bad for your hearing, I found out on Monday.
I went upstairs with a cup of coffee, tripped over and managed to slosh some steaming hot coffee into my right ear canal. Have you ever done this? No? I got an advice for you: don't do it. It hurts.
