What fantasy/science fiction book are you reading RIGHT NOW?

I just finished Harpist in the Wind by SRD's friend Patricia McKillip, the last book in The Quest of the Riddle Master trilogy. Wonderful stuff! Required reading for anyone who loves the fantasy genre. I've just ordered The Lightstone (book 1 in the Ea fantasy cycle) by David Zindell (author of Neverness) from Amazon.uk, but I don't know what do read in the meantime

Although its not fantasy/sci-fi, I'm currently reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. Something about reading classics like this one, its like drinking a fine wine, having a really nice meal at a classy restaurant.

Since its translated from Russian, the prose is relatively simple, which actually adds to the charm of the tale. Anna is an older married woman, in her mid30s, and is courted by Vronsky, a dashing young soldier. Quite similar in style to DH Lawrence, and just as enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I think you will enjoy both the books and the Augery a great deal.

I finally safely made my way across The Gap, so have started Eye of Cat, by Roger Zelazny, a science fiction novel set i nthe great American Southwest.

I'm currently re-reading the Wheel of Time. I'm in the middle of The Lord Of Chaos. After I'm done with WOT again, I'm re-reading A Song of Ice and Fire as A fest of Crows is due out in August. Then I have to re-read the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant in time for October. I've got my reading planned out for awhile.

I'm zipping through This Immortal (or...And Call Me Conrad) by Zelazny right now lots of interesting ideas lots of Greek Mythos--quick and enjoyable.

I've ordered Memories of Ice, the shop should have it tonight or on monday. I'm really enjoying the series - Erikson has put a lot of work into it, and the world so full and developed - three hundred thousand years of history behind the book I'm about to start, and each book delves deeper into the past, and into the mysteries of this world....

Sci-Fi. It's very impressive. It's about a search for utopia on a planet named Salt.

Just checked. there's nothing on Amazon for this. Although they do mention his upcoming one, Polystom

It's what it says on Barnes and nobles aswell as Amazon. I hadn't check teh Martin site in awhile. Maybe I should.
