Going with time travel with this one.
At least I could move backwards and know what to expect,
whereas multiple dimensions would seem too much like "Sliders".

Back when I was a kid and we first got Cable there was a film starring Terrance Hill that they played pretty often. I have to go with Hill for familiarity's sake.
