I haven't looked at the chapter breakdowns of any of my Matrix DVD's yet, but the thought of reviewing them this way certainly intrigues me.
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion
I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

I wouldn't say he's the most human. Smith is human in his hate and philosophies, but is also odd in his behaviours. The Merovingian or the Oracle are probably the most human.

I would have to disagree. The Merovingian and the Oracle are both very...cold. They both see things from quite a removed perspective. Smith is very human, while still being sufficiently alien to seem strange.Ur-Vile wrote:I wouldn't say he's the most human. The Oracle cold? are you sure of that? Maybe you are referring to her attitude to manipulating people. But listen to her in the third film - she cares for humanity. Look at how she reacts to when Smith admits to 'possessing' the Indian girl. I wouldn't say the Oracle sees things from a removed perspective; her whole plan is to help the human race. Neo was her tool, yes, but she cared.CovenantJr wrote:I would have to disagree. The Merovingian and the Oracle are both very...cold. They both see things from quite a removed perspective. I think each Matrix person/program was capable of being one part of what each of us is. Where they all failed was that a real human can be, well, very inconsistent and irrational, moody and unpredictable, and very complicated. That is the part of all of us that the Machine couldn't understand; that is why it thought of us as a virus. It thought logically that it was superior to humans, which is the real irony as we created it. I wonder how often we look at the universe with our limited perceptions and think we're clearly superior to the God that created us....uhh, forget I said that. I don't want a religious debate here!

When the man with a 45 meets the man with a rifle, you said the man with a pistol is a dead man. Let's see if it's true.

Oracle - Ironically, she shows the best of human qualities.
Merovingian - He has deep machine roots, with his causality, but very human with his desire for power.
Smith - Insane by the standards of any sentient. Who in their right mind would want NO company ANYWHERE but other copies of themself??
