As a White Sox fan, I love to see Frank Thomas complain about how he got it stuck to him on his contract. He tried to be a free agent, but no one wants a .250 hitting DH, who hasn't played a position on the field in 5 years. He complains that they cut his salary from $10,000,000 to $5,000,000. They could have brought his salary down to $250,000.

Ban Effederine!--Don't determine WS homefield advantage by whoever wins the All Star game! Put Rose in the Hall of Fame! Do some of these things and more and u might attracts fans back 2 baseball. D--how can u mess w/"the Big Hurt"? He's one of my favs! Mets have all sorts of wicked weapons now--plus some secret potenial superstar that no 1's heard of...so obscure I can remember his name right now--but I think he's a catcher (no not Pi(a)zza-boy. But do they have chemisty? Will Vaugh and Alomar ever get it 2gether, or will they turn gay and run away w/ea other? Will Dusty have any effect on he cursed Cubs. Is this the year Torre says "screw u Stienbrenner"?

Look out for the Red Sox. With no World Series since 1918 I pretty sure this is the year. It's hard to pick against the Yanks (Which I won't) but I think, with Pedro and Lowe (Can you name a better front two), Boston is as dangerous as any team out there in a short series.

Danlo - The Big Hurt hurts the clubhouse too much. It would have been better for both sides if someone picked him up. Dusty won't have an immediate effect on the Cubs, they've got a ways to go, but he's a good manager. I do like their new GM as well, he's made some good moves.

Brinn, I'm from Massachusetts too, and give it up!! Pedro's gotta be healthy for the PITCHING to be successful, but what about the rest of the team? Have you heard anything about them trading Hildenbran?
Very true, but the same could be said of any teams ace (except for the Yankees who have 7 starters at last count!). Pedro really showed me something last year. After he got shelled on opening day he settled down and led the league in K's, ERA, WHIP, opponents average, etc... (I actually believe he got shafted out of the Cy Young but that's a different argument). He wasn't throwing in the upper 90's all year like he normally does but he was still the best pitcher in the AL even without 90 MPH stuff. I think you may have seen the last days of him blowing batters away with the heater but his other pitches are so good that he doesn't need to throw the gas to be effective.
Last I heard Hillenbrand is still available but so far Theo hasn't recieved a compelling offer. I would bet he gets moved by the All-Star break. His value will never be higher than it will be this year.
I'm optimistic (Isn't that odd for a sox fan!). They picked up some solid players who certainly aren't superstars but will contribute. I like Walker at 2nd, I think it's a nice upgrade over Rey Sanchez and Meuller and Millar will contribute. Jeremy Giambi may be ready to break out this year. He's a better player than most people realize. The thing I really like is that the Sox still have some money to spend come midseason when all those non-contenders start dropping big name players in the last years of their contracts. I'll bet you my house that they pick up another pitcher and probably another good bat around the trading deadline. Just my 2 white gold dollars though! Keep the Faith and if you happen to go to Fenway this year when the Sox play the Yanks could I request a bolt of Lord's Fire in Jeter's general direction!
Well I can't argue with that. I actually have Schill on my fantasy squad and I love him even though he let me down at the end of last year. The comparison is still a valid one. Here's a closer look:
Wins go to Arizona but who can argue with four 20 game winners. Both have 12 combined losses. Sox walked less batters. Arizona struck out significantly more. Sox have a better combined WHIP, and ERA goes to Pedro and Lowe as well. The thing is will Lowe do it again or is he a one-year wonder?!?!? Randy, Schil and Pedro are proven superstars. I'll give Arizona the edge but they aren't getting any younger.
It's a little known fact but 89% of all Haruchai are Red Sox Fans (It's a variation on our vow). Although I think Hergrom once told me he was a Devil Ray fan
