Ok, i just wont to say i really did enjoy this ending and the whole series emmensly. It is my third favorite of all time. I do have some questions however on the last chapter that for some reason confused me.
At the end when Linden awakes to find the other doc standing over her, helping her, she sees Covenant and the knife is in his chest and he is dead, The doctor tells her about the lunatics who were praying at the fire under lord fouls control, how they burned their hands and he came out to investigate with the sherif. This all i got, and thats fine, the thing i have some trouble with understanding is... at the end it says. "Linden Avery kept a sure hold on her wedding ring" (ok, i understand that it was given to her to use to restore the land and all of that i understood, and i thought was very well written, however...this is what gets me confused..... if the two worlds are seperate and everytime covenant has come back before, he comes back to being hurt like he was when he got summoned into the land, (lets say that their soul crosses over to the land.. and becomes manifest in the land as a living breathing person, but when its time to go back they become a soul again.. how DID SHE RETAIN THE RING???? am i just wrong on my assumption on the soul thing? I just doesnt make sense to me that every time he has come back before he is always as he was, if thats true, in the real world, wouldnt his dead body still be in possesion of the ring?
When they are at the one tree, and Covenant trys to send Linden back with his ring to save his life, she comes back and says she cant not since his soul isnt there. His very will to live isnt there.. Then once again i ask, how is the ring in her position in the real world? I can understand the LAND, and i would understood it if she went over to him and took the ring, but bah.. im confused.
So yeah, if someone could shed some light on those little things that confused me, i would be greatful
