Tough one.
I like guitars, but trying to learn keyboard. (Without success)
But to pick just one, I'll say piano.

To be blind or deaf?
Have you hugged your arghule today?

What is taboo to you politics or religion?

I don't consider any subject taboo, but I do step lightly sometimes when politics enter the conversation. A civilized debate with someone I will never see eye-to-eye with is fine, but I don't argue with trolls, and there are a lot of trolls out there.

Actual butter. I can believe it's not butter, and most of that stuff isn't really better for you anyway.

Along the same line - real sugar, or sugar substitute?

Real sugar all the way.

Like you I can taste the difference. I dont even like low fat, low sugar products ... cuz they taste funky.

Bathing cats or bathing dogs?

A lot depends on how the critter in question feels about being bathed. If they hop into the sink and give you an expectant look, it's no big deal. If you have to drag an angry Cuisinart out from under the bed, that gets old quickly.

I have only ever had cats, and they tend to be self-cleaning and rather indignant when they do need a little help. The last time I had to bathe one of my cats, it was after she'd knocked a beer over and was scandalized by the fact that her paws got beery. It wasn't fun for either of us, though I highly recommend the experience if you ever need to be 100% sober very quickly.

Obedient or insubordinate?

Oh jeez that entirely depends on the situation. Id characterise myself as mostly obedient with a splash of insubordination when called for ๐Ÿ˜‰

Im not afraid to pick up a battle axe and go in to a scrum if need be. Im more emboldened if its to defend someone I care about ... otherwise Im not a fan of personal confrontation.

So as we are talking characteristics like this ... deliberate or spontaneous?

Deliberate. Probably too deliberate. Probably put too much thought into stuff.

My sister calls it "I-can't-believe-they-think-this-tastes-like-butter". :D

As terrible as it is for the economy, I love shopping online. UNLESS it comes to shoes or any clothing, especially over the shoulder boulder holders.

Tighties, or Commando?

I think I've lost something in translation here - commando to me means not wearing undies :D in which case I'd go tighties I guess, unless that's a women-only outfit, and then I probably wouldn't do that, although I wouldn't go commando...

So anyway :D , sleep with PJs on, or in the buff? :D

This has changed a lot through the years. I used to wear PJs all the time, then I think I just went to taking off my pants only, then wearing everything but socks and shoes to bed after a fire at an apartment I was living at, and now it has shifted to pretty much just underwear. But after my wife, who sleeps in the buff since I've known her, recently got super comfy PJs that she now loves, I'm tempted to go back to those magical days of yesteryear from my childhood.

Would you prefer or do you already play lead guitar, rhythm guitar, or bass guitar?

I think I'm always going to be a rhythm guitarist. I always used to aim higher, but these days I'd prefer to see my kids shine, and I don't have the time to work on it any more than that. I would, though, love to direct a band - I'm not sure if it is 'direct' or 'arrange' or something. I know the sort of sound I like, and I think it would be great to try and harness people's talents into ways they potentially don't expect.

Maybe one day when there is enough money for me to just do what I want....

If you had a choice, would you prefer to write and perform your own songs, or do awesome interesting covers?

this sounds awesome! If you want to do that... and it sounds like you have a vision for that... I bet there's a group of musicians somewhere who would like you to direct (arrange? coordinate?) them!
I think there are always leadership vacuums.
Probably some bands have this role defaulted to "the person in the group who most wanted the band to exist," simply because someone has to do it.

Anyway, in answer:
If I could, writing and performing my own song would be awesome!

Run a highly successful Youtube channel, or a highly-successful blog?

Blog feels more my style, but then again, if my kids, who REALLY want to be YouTube stars, are the successes, and I am the idea guy, then that would be probably the winner. And I think it would be less work that way. :)
If anybody has a gimmick I could develop with the kids for a YouTube channel, let me know.

I'm more of a behind-the-scenes type person. Rather be writing or even directing than in the spotlight.

Eat out. When I was growing up we never ate out - except the few times going on vacation and then only fast food.

Would you rather be at fancy party all decked out and looking great or casual party wearing whatever you just happened to be wearing?

Whichever is the one where the conversation is better, so... probably casual.

(Mind you, I would *like* an excuse to dress up, but... on average, those parties would not actually be enjoyable, methinks.)

Which would you rather have as a pet- an orphaned fruit bat*, (flying fox is my suggestion) now grown, or a tame, de-scented skunk?

* This is coming from the woman who suggested to her kid, "Can you imagine a world where people kept bats as pets instead of dogs? ...where that just became the default pet longago history?" While we were watching a video of someone's pet bat** lounging on the couch.

** Cags, I have an idea for your kids' youtube channel. First, what you need to do is get several exotic pets. Actually, before that, you might need to get permits for some of them...

Uh...

I guess the skunk. They're a lot like cats, quite intelligent, and they won't land in my hair unexpectedly.

Another pet choice: A sloth or a platypus?
