Re: In the kitchen with Cail.....
This thread needed to be bumped for newbies who have not yet enjoyed it.
The first time I read it, I was rolling with laughter... didn't remember the mixing stuff in the Glad containers - ahaha!
I think I may have found at least one people group with that "anti-greed gene" (or at least an "anti-acquisitiveness" gene) you were hypothesizing about in the Close, ali...

"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."

"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."

Funny this got bumped. My daughter and I made a delicious batch on New Year's Eve.
Glad people still enjoy this. I'm flattered.

cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

I know it was nominated, but wasn't it a Watchy winner?

Bumped this thread for peter...
...and anyone else who may not have known it existed..
...or needed to read it over again!
(Which seems to fit the bill even better, if possible.)

Also, the unofficial motto in question is, "Improvise, Adapt, Overcome."Cail, in 2007 wrote:"But Cail", you protest, "how can you possibly bake the Best Damn Chocolate Chip Cookies when Cruella has all of your wonderful kitchen implements held hostage in your kitchen, which is nine miles away from your apartment?"
Simple, I'll adopt the motto of the United States Marine Corps; Adapt and Overcome. (all apologies to the USMC if that's not their motto, and all apologies to whoever's it actually is if, in fact, it's not the USMC's. But I digress.).

A seasonal twist on Cail's cookies, half dark chocolate chips, half chopped Cadbury milk chocolate easter eggs and a few drops of almond extract....it's as addictive as crack...
