Ah--don't gimme that look! :-|

I'm of the view that it's hypocritical that I can't purchase a beer, but I can fight and die for my country.

Seriously . . . a spot of red wine is nothing compared to the Southern teenager's standard drinking ethics (or rather, antics). I won't even go into the gory details. No ma'am!

Dude, I can sympathize with ya. My friend Breezy's been drinkin' since she was 11. (a little bit after the hallucinations started.) She's not messed up, except for the fact that she can read tea leaves and tell fortunes, and they're usually true. Oh, and in GA, you just get really sad when you see a little 5 yr old chugin' down a beer. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting.

So Foul, just as long as you don't drive when you drink, I suppose it's ok. *still glares and scowls dissapprovingly though...*

Someone's been force-fed too much school propaganda. Have they shown those gruesome car-wreck pictures, yet?

I explicitly said I drink conservatively (and only when I eat steak). You’d think you people were trying to check me into Betty Ford! The only drinking and driving I’ve done is the driving-the-steak-into-my-mouth-and-rinsing-with-wine kind!! Thank you, thank you! *Bows to the audience*

I question the credibility of your claim, seeing as it's coming from a 7'8" brawn.

Yup. Oddly enough, I watched with a Vain-style grin. They all backed away slowly. 8O 8) |V It has been proven that I am the child repeller. :screwy:

And Foul, the last guy that ended up on her "Kill Them" list is still in bandages. And the only reason that I'm saying this is because she's standing behind me with that famous dagger of hers. :Help: She will hunt you down. :?

Oh, there's no hostility! Just measured hatred. Just kidding!

Heck, red wine is very healthy for yer heart, as has been said, before. Nothing wrong with it.

(the members engaged in hostility are too young to imbibe the topic at hand)

Mmmm, brandy.
Mmmmmmmm, sangria

Bah, I've imbibed. Well, only wine and champagne. This isn't a beer topic, though, so I’ll "no comment" on that crap. Just don't like it. Some folks can drink five, six, 12-packs, etc. It'd blow me up--I can't hold that much. Those folks are superhuman--or maybe super stupid. Like when somebody says, "Let's go get wasted," or, "Let's go get smashed!" Sounds very appetizing, to me . . .

But really, all that alcohol stuff tastes like crap to me. I would take a glass of orange juice over red wine any day. I mean, a lot of folks only drink such stuff because you have to be a certain age, and it's a "rite of passage" and all that junk. I mean, come on . . . My grandfather went through 2 years of Korea and 3 tours of Vietnam and he only drinks bottled water.

When it comes to alcohol, the palatable qualities are mostly secondary. There's also something to be said for the occasional "Let's go get wasted."

Just remember... baby steps. Especially if you're going to college and plan to hang around other like-minded Floyd/Kubrick/type fans.

I don't have to drink if I don't want to--even if they're drinking together and I'm with 'em. That is, unless they knock a big guy like me out and tie a beer hat to my head . . . No way!

I admire your attitude LF. I also would prefer to choice a non alcoholic drink over alcoholic. That doesn't mean I dont partake, it just means that I get no kick from champagne.

Ah... yes, the "Lets get smashed" minded ones...

No, for me wine beer and liquor are no different then cokes, coffee's and tea's... each has a place...

COFFEE is great in the morning, first thing. Also as a mid afternoon snack.

Tea at lunch.

Soda after work on the drive home.

Wine with dinner, and the type is in accordance with what’s for dinner.

Beer is for going out with the guys or at our weekly BBQ with the neighbors.

Then there's my beloved Brandy... At first she only came on Christmas eve... but once I got married that one night stand each year had to end... Me and the dog getting polluted on a 5th of her, while playing the harmonica and listening to Pink Floyd all night doesn’t fit in with the wife and kids... So my lover, Brandy and I try to see each other for short periods through out the whole year when ever we can.

Foul, You don't sound so foul.
I'm with you on this one. Been there. done it, it's ok for those who like, but I like the good-tasting stuff that lets me stay as sane as possible. I get crazy enough all on my own just being ME. ; )
I do like a margarita when it's just the girls out by the pool and we're not going to be driving anywhere.
But I don't need to get loaded to have fun.

Thanks Cate. Wow, been a long time since I made that anti-beer post. I still believe strongly against getting drunk, etc. Never have, never will. See no point. In fact, I don't drink red wine anymore. 8O

I drink blueberry wine!
