We need to plan a 'fest in Germany, with Vader hosting a cookout or dinner at some point.

Or, fly him over to Albuquerque, and have Lady Tam and Vader coordinate the ultimate bash.

If you have a receipt for butter chicken (I know of a pretty good one for the Instant Pot or other pressure cooker), apparently using the planned over sauce as the sauce for pizza is pretty awesome.

Everything looks amazing, Vader.

Your pizza crust always looks amazing.

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?

That looks like what would be called a Neapolitan-style crust around here. Not easy to find a good one. Now I want pizza.

The weeks I had to stay at home due to Covid-19 were well spent. I finally had the time to shorten my to-do list (in theory) and cook some dishes I had in mind for a long time. Also having time reading cookbooks and watching cooking channels on the interwebs, my to-do actually increased (in reality).

Image
Raspberry tart.

Image
Burger with home made bun and fries.

Image
Moscow Mule.

Image
Udon noodles with beef Japanese style.

Image
Soffocini.

Image
Scotch eggs with yummy runny yolk.

Image
Dalgona coffee.

Image
Poire (pear) Helene.

Image
Peach Melba

Image
Stir fried beef in oyster sauce.

Image
Wok-hei!

Image
Coronation Chicken Sandwich.

Image
Langos - deep fried Hungarian flat bread.

Image
STEAK.

Image
The Vesper. Shaken, not stirred.

Image
Bigoli all'anatra - thick pasta with duck ragu, a favorite dish around Venice.

Image
Rosato Tonic - Ramazotti Rosato, dash of fresh lime juice, ice cube, tonic as a filler. Summer drink.

Image
Potted shrimp - butter poached tiny shrimps on thin toast Melba. A British classic and an entree fit for a Queen.

Image
Adana kebap from Turkey. Ground lamb mixed with red peppers grilled on at least one inch wide skewers.

Image
Mole poblane - the full monty with frying, blending and throwing in everything I could find - apart form kitchen furniture, family members and pets - like a mad scientist. Deep frying cookies? It's a first time for me, but why not!

Image
Corn dogs. Don't ask.

Image
Orange chicken.

Image
"Water boiled beef" from Sichuan. The name ist misleading, since this is packed with chopped chilis, Sichuan peppers and stuff.

Image
"Ants climbing a tree" - ground pork with noodles. A Sichuan classic.

Image
West-Lake-Soup with beef - a Cantonese classic.

Image
Mapo Dofu - another Sichuan classic. If you still think Tofu dishes suck after eating this, you seriously need help.

Image
Grilled pork belly "char siu" style.

Image
Mango and coconut jelly - a cute dessert from Thailand.

Image
Gong Bao Ji Ding - authentic Kung Pao Chicken from Sichuan. I'm obsessed with this dish.

Image
Grilled pork belly with Sichuan seasoning.

Image
Fish-fragrant eggplant. "Fish-fragrant" is one of the 23 traditional flavor-profiles in Sichuan. It does not contain any fish, but aromates that are associated with cooking fish, like garlic, ginger, vinegar and chili.

Image
Fish-fragrant pork slivers.

Image
Smacked cucumer salad Sichaun style.

Image
Fried ribs in orange sauce.

Image
Grilled lamb chops.

Image
Chinese style duck. Not breast filet, but deboned legs. First steamed than deep fired until crispy.

Image
Vietnamese summer rolls.

Image
Deep fried spring rolls.

We got Thanksgiving over here in Germany as well, but it's a different date (first Sunday in October). As you can see, no work or school day off here. Religious people go to church, but for most of us here it's just another boring Sunday. However, being 'Murican by heart I usually prepare a Turkey for Thanksgiving. Sadly this year I didn't find the time for it, so I'm gonna make up for it next week. Until then these pictures form my recent cookings will have to suffice.

The phenomenal Mississippi Slugburger, according to George Motz. The simplest burger I ever cooked, but hands down the best. Less is more.
