"But two list-worthy words which are unlikely to find their way into "The Last Chronicles" are: "rachitic" and "nystagmus."
Look them up!!

You know, when i first read about Stonemight Woodhelven in TWL, I thought, "Ah, how terrible to see a rachitic Woodhelven! It must have been built by nystagmatic Hirebrands!"
I'm very concerned that Mr. Donaldson has closed off two potentially fruitful avenues of vocabularic prowess. Anyone want to take bets on the use of "borborygmus" in the Last Chrons?

Halfway down the stairs Is the stair where I sit. There isn't any other stair quite like it. I'm not at the bottom, I'm not at the top; So this is the stair where I always stop.

I feel that the loss of "rachitic" is made up for by "flensing" in the prologue.
The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function.

Ugh, flensing. Indeed. Better to be bow-legged than to have the blubber cut away from your skin. Most of the time, anyway.CovenantJr wrote:I'd rather have rachitic than flensing any day. Flansing seems somewhat more unpleasant. Or perhaps my comprehension of the words is slightly rachitic
