It doesn't get much more annoying than this. I knew the word after two guesses. I just had a strong feeling. But if I was wrong, to guess it would have shown me only one more letter. So instead, I tried a word that would reveal three more letters. And when none of them worked, I just went with that original guess. How on Earth are you supposed to know when to go with the crazy guess!

Bottom left is the same situation, though to a lesser degree. Even the same first letter. After I guess number 7, my first thought was the actual answer. But, for no particular reason, I considered it less likely than my second thought. So I went with the second, and was wrong.

At least this went pretty well. I learned, and went with all my hunches.

Score: 60
I got it on connective guesses 4-11.
3 and 5-11 would be 59
3, 4, and 6-11 = 58
3-5 and 7-11 = 57
3-6 and 8-11 = 56
3-7 and 9-11 = 55
3-8 and 10-11 = 54
3-9 and 11 = 53
3-10 = 52
So there's lots of room to break 60. But, man!
