Just started.. Love that we are starting with Apsalar. She is trying to say she isn't "that specific Apsalar". Yeah not buying. LOL

How's it feel to have read as much as you've read, and only be halfway through the Fallen, not even started the equally long Empire, four Ascendancy books, and a few others!

So this is non-spoiler because it goes back to House of Chains, but I'll post it here because Mogara appears in The Bonehunters too.
I wonder if Mogara is a d'ivers ascendant now? In Deadhouse Gates soletaken and d'ivers were supposed to follow the path of hands, but Shadowthrone and Azath (and possibly the Nameless Ones, I'm not sure) messed with the signs so that they went to Tremorlor instead. But it looks like Mogara wasn't fooled, and made her way to Iskaral Pust's temple. So, did she reach the destination, or did she, like Galadriel, abstain from taking on too much power? (beyond the power inherent in being the wife of Iskaral Pust)

I am enjoying this one much more than some of the previous ones. Now that I know some of the characters better, the stories seem to flow better. So Apsalar now has two ghosts that are following her around, and she has a mission. She just kicked a couple of guards butts and found some tablets that she is reading.

Karsa is back! I absolutely love Karsa as a character. Of course he runs right to a big gate, slams his sword in between the doors and cuts open the lock, the starts a fight to the death (without his sword) with some creature. Love it!

One of my favourite books in the series I think.

In my head I hear from Grease "Look! All the gangs together!" Nice to see Quick Ben, Heboric, Icarium, Mappo, Fiddler, etc etc etc. Although the last book was a "long" diversion from everything else, its nice to get back to the main storyline again... of course main storyline is a POV.

You actually may recognize that creature from House of Chains.

Spoiler
Now I have to admit that I don't know WHAT it was anymore. I actually think I remember thinking this at some point. Someone once said the K'Chain Che'Malle were the demons of Wu's World. But I don't think it was actually a K'Chain, because it has a magical ability that they are never mentioned as having. Actually, I think in Deadhouse Gates or House of Chains (can't remember which but I think it's House of Chains), it's wounded by Kalam when he's helping the Ashok Regiment escape the fortress. Its blood gets in the water of an underground river. Then an En'Kar'Al (spelling?) drinks the blood and this allows the demon to possess the En'Kar'Al and the En'Kar'Al gets trapped in the demon's body. Kalam kills the demon possessed enkaral and now in The Bonehunters Karsa has killed the Enkaral possessed demon. That blood transfusion magic, I don't think marks it as a K'Chain. It does says it looks lizard like though doesn't it?
But I was just initially posting to say that the thing Karsa fought with, Kalam also fought with.
