It’s a volunteer “job” lol all members of our unit are volunteers who are on call for a range of services - purely storm related emergency response but we’ve inhabited storm condition for what seems like 4 long years since 2020/21 ..

I am less available this year as I am not often here as I look after properties/farms, livestock, equestrian estates/stud farms & domestic pets … so have had to pull back … but when I am here I feel less able to not answer a call.

@Fist and Faith the on call thing can range from being a pain in the ass to being an opportunity to go out of area and assist in flood rescues or community preparedness and it’s a good fit for me as I enjoy working with community minded humans in all areas of emergency response & services.
