So which out of your collection did you have the most pleasure listening to. Cheers.

Any of the LOTR commentary has been fascinating for me. I just rented Secret window, and there is loads of information on that one. Really good movie too.

Michael Jeck's commentary on Seven Samurai, available only on the Criterion Collection. He's a Japanese film scholar/historian and brings real knowledge to the plate, rather than some actor going, "oh I remember that scene--fabulous location."

The commentary on the docu-drama "Touching the Void". It's the story of two climbers who climbed an unclimbed route up the 21,000+ ft. Suila Grande in the Peruvian alps and the tragedy that befell them. Nothing compares to reality.
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. John Stuart Mill

Oh, I love all the documentries and commentaries on the LOTR DVDs. I have the extended versions of both FOTR and TTT, and the extra features are just wonderful!! I'll put those on instead of the movies sometimes!!

And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.
~fly fly little wing, fly where only angels sing~
~this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you~
...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.

My DVD collection is sparse, but out of that, the commentary for Fellowship definitely sets the standard for breadth of insight. I especially enjoyed Peter Jackson's commentary.
Runner-up might be the 10th Anniversary Edition of Unforgiven. It has a thoughtful commentary by film critic and Eastwood biographer Richard Schickel, and the picture quality here is noticeably improved over the original DVD release. So it's a double treat for me!

I really liked the Pitch Black commentary. During the bit where Fry crawls through the tunnel, offering an unrivaled view of her cleavage, David Twohy says "Fan boys everywhere, you're welcome."
Vin Diesel is quite funny on that one too.
The Thing has got a good commentary, too. Kurt Russell's commentary of the scene where he very nearly got blown up is hilarious.
