X Men Movies: So far, so good!

I can't seem to find an existing thread on this, so I thought I'd start one. Also, I'd like to talk about Halle Berry's replacement for Storm. Word is that it will be Christina Millian, who so far has acted in Torque, and has a few singles out as a pop artist. She is pretty, won't need a wig, and undoubtably will have enough range to portray Storm as it sits, but who knows what will happen if X3 has Storm in a more prominent role. Then again, if that were the case, I doubt that Halle would have quit. Anyway, this should be a good link to Ms. Millian.....

Having watched X-2 again the night before last I have to wonder what Halle was complaining about. She occupied the screen far more than she did in first film and her role would have probably expanded with X-3. Christina would make a fine Storm but will we be distracted by the change in actor? Time will tell. One thing is certain I won't miss an X movie. I trust what Bryan Singer is doing with the franchise.

Halle Berry has just got a massive ego now. She thinks winning a crappy oscar means something, and therefore cannot be doing films that she is not getting paid either a foutune and isn't the main character. Bitch.

I don't think Halle did anything in X1 & 2 that couldn't have been done by any other actress, or indeed, in a pinch, me

I too trust Singer implicitly. The problem w/ any X-movie will always be the lack of time in the format deeply develop all the characters. Spiderman has been so succesful because there only needs to be deep development of a few relationships and characters. It is more intimate.

I liked X1 and really liked X-2...I hope that Singer can find more intimate plots and maybe even just weed out storm.

Any chance that we get proteus as a villian?

Anyone could do what she did. And I've never found Halle Berry that attractive either... however... Christina Millian

So much more acttractive than Halle Berry.

I think it's telling that they decided to make Storm American rather than get Berry to learn the proper accent.

I liked the first X-Men film, even though I though the second was much better. I was a little disappointed that the didn't include any of the back story between Logan and Yuriko. It made her feel a bit 'Darth Maul' in that respect.

I'm hoping that the next film will include Rogue stealing her super powers from that evil, hardass mutant woman whose name evades me. Might be a bit much considering we're going to be dealing with the phoenix and all.

She's probably deathly afraid of being like other Oscar-winning actresses, including Kim Bassinger and Mira Sorvino, whose careers dried up after they won the award.

And Gunslinger, I most certainly hope that they don't write Storm out. I want to see her lose her grip on her tightly control emotions and go NATO all over the place.

Personally I prefer characters to be played by the same people in sequels etc. However I think that the original Storm/Wolverine mix that was concentrated on needs to be widened. There are many others that can bring a lot to the films I think and still make for a good film. So even if she is still in it as long as she isn't the 'starring role' and main actress then I am sure it will be fine.

I'd like to see them pare the cast down considerably and concentrate on one or two characters in each movie. There's not enough screen time to go around.

X2 did a masterful job of giving everyone a fair slice of the pie but how often can you come up with an interesting story and service all the characters?
