OK, Ms. Hamilton is a very popular author, her books sell big numbers. She is currently known for two series of novels, Anita Blake, Vampire hunter, series (starts with Guilty Pleasures) and Meredith Gentry, Unseelie court princess and private dectective, series (starts with A kiss of shadows).

Anyone read much of her books, and whaddya think?

I read Guilty Pleasures and it was quite the enjoyable read, but I'm not so much into the vampire stuff, depends on my mood, some of her scenes are quite the sensual thing, so I feel its leaning more towards the female reader, but doesn't mean I can't appreciate it, cheers.

Haven't read all of them but enough. In general, I have found them to be shallow and bordering on pornographic. There is very little actual plot developemnt, just enough thrown in here and there to get you to the next sexual encounter. Kind of like alot of the so called historical romances. Just not my cup of tea.

I would recommend that you read maybe up to the first 3-4 books of the Anita Blake series and possibly the first one of the other series. For some reason it is getting a lot more difficult to find any traces of plot in all the (literal) f****** in the later books.

I have read a bunch of the Anita Blake books and must admit I find the first 4 or so a joy to read, mostly because of Anitas very hard pragmatic attitude to violence, she is not really violent person (at 1st anyway) but when push comes to shove she don’t hold back. Also, Anitas dry humour and cool comments make them worth reading…Anita is a very hard, cool, fun heroine.

But the series is going downhill, it’s more and more becoming a personal outlet for L.K Hamiltons fetish, SM, kinky, erotica.

My copy of guilty pleasure has been read by about a handful of people, all have asked to read more books in the series but only girl have read all (eight or nine) books in the series and she is really into the kinky sex so she things its getting better and better …

I think the books are funny, not deep literature but a good few hours read.

L.K Hamilton has also written a fantasy book Nightseer that was just boring, none of the cool witty comments from Anita Blake and the story never catch you, must confess I just read two thirds of the book and never finished it…

Hamilton's actually my new guilty pleasure. I know it's trash, and I haven't read many of the later, naughtier, books, but I just can't seem to help myself. I'm not even big into the vampire stuff, but there's a certain energy to the Anita Blake books that's just fun to go along with.

Of course, I've been on brain-fry mode at work lately, so it's kind of nice to come home to braincandy and not have to think too much. :D
