Ahh, yes we were. Wasn't ak-Haru able to go completely invisible? It may be possible that Starfare's Gem carried him back to the Land (it's pretty easy for an invisible guy to hide), where he may have gone to the next site of the One Tree. In fact, he may have the job of sprouting a new One Tree; who knows where.

I've wondered about ak-Haru's fate as well. I thought he might be like Amok: he simply reappears as needed. But that implies he was made, and that's not a popular opinion.

The idea of him being a stowaway on Starfare's Gem is pretty amusing. Who would have been the wiser? Vain might have sensed him, but would have just grinned about it. Findail would have sensed him, but he's good at keeping things to himself. Cail possibly could have sensed him, but wouldn't have said anything since ak-Haru posed no threat to the ship.
