Yeah, the episode "Trials and Tribbleations" - that's one of my favorite DS9 episodes! I started a new thread so we could hash out some theories on this, and will award a grand prize to the winner of the best theory.

"Lucas can die of Gonerriah and rot in hell... would you like a cookie son?" ~paraphrased from Einhorn/Finkle's mother in Ace Ventura
Lucas just doesn't know when to leave well enough alone. He's gone from brilliant director to complete idiot and that's no lie.
He keeps proving my theory correct that he DID NOT originally write A New Hope, that he bought it (the story) from Alan Dean Foster and then paid an exorbiant amount of money to not lay claim to the original authorship.
The "Special Editions I didn't mind because they allowed more depth visually, i.e. the HUNDREDS of Stormtroopers Han Solo ran into on the Death Star while chasing a few down the corridors in A New Hope.

But removing lines and changing actors and over-dubs and god knows what else? Borderline Sacralige IMO...
But what else can you expect from a guy who approved of a character like Jar Jar Binks?

Good news everybody; my old posts are being re-edited to include more witty comments and new dialogue. Expect them sometime later this year.

"Should Lucas embelish Episodes IV,V & VI any further?"

There were some great posts and one really interesting report on a rumor about the changes.

Hi, guys... been a while.

I guess you're referring to the list I quoted. I'll stick it in here again, but I will repeat emphatically that I believe this is all bollocks, as did the guy I got the list from (who had in turn got it from somewhere else on the net).

Not only is it a third-hand rumour, the changes read very much as though some SW geek sat down to think up all the most offensively dumb changes he could. :)

This Is Probably BS But I Thought I Would Share It With All The Star Wars Fans Here
It was sent to me by someone who was sent it by someone else...

I make no claims to its authenticity...

None of these ones would particularly surprise me. I've removed handful that seem ridiculously unlikely, even for Lucas.
