Not as good as glasses, but it'll do in a pinch. :screwy:

Glasses eh? Hmmm... I hadn't thought of that. That might be pretty effective. Tom wears glasses. Powerstar doesn't. Pretty sweet.

Why is there blood oozing out of the light sabred severed arm in a New Hope? Cauterized?

Its really page 1 not page 2 that seems to have relevant comments. Perhaps I should trim this thread down a bit. :D

No, leave it be. If you start editing things just because you no longer like them, you'll be as bad as Lucas.

What makes you think I'm not already as bad as GL?

Well, when you put it that way you make an excellent point.

TOM C wrote:There are a couple of scenes in A New Hope that drive me nuts.
1. The conference room on the Death Star. Tarkin is sitting at the head of the table. Vader is standing a few feet away. A soldier walks in. "Sir. We have searched Dantooine. They found the remains of a rebel base but it has been deserted for some time."
Tarkin: "She lied to us!"
Vader: "I told you she would not consciously betray the rebellion."
Now comes my problem. After Vader is finished speaking, David Prowess continues to shake his hand as if he is still speaking. Arrghhh!
According to the original screenplay, Vader's full lines were:

"I told you she would never consciously betray the Rebellion,
unless she thought she could destroy us in the process."

(In the final cut, they cut off the audio line after the word "Rebellion." David Prowse apparently did speak the original lines during filming, hence the prolonged gesturing.)

Here's another interesting flaw that was pointed out to me: if they were going through all the trouble of hiding young Luke from Vader and the Emperor, why didn't they change his name? What was to stop Vader from looking up "Skywalker" in the Galactic Phone Book? "Hello, Luke? This is your dad. Where have you been? You don't call, you don't send postcards..."

I think the term hidden in plain sight comes to mind.
Of course Vader has no idea he has offspring so why would he go looking for them? He's far too busy crushing windpipes for that.

As to Vader's gesturing, there had to have been a way to edit the scene to elimnate that. When I first went to see SW special Edition I was certain they would fix that. NOPE! Tons of money spent on new and exciting special effects and they leave that scene untouched. :-(

I'd go with George Lucas writing and/or directing the new trilogy...just a disaster (remember, eps. 5 and 6 weren't written or directed by him, though 4 is brilliant).
