THE GIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW COULD HE?!?!?!?! I mean seriously?! What an ending to give us!!! He gives us an ending, and then says: Sorry, you have to wait until the next book, even if the suspense KILLS you*

I stared in complete astonishment at the last ten lines of the book, I was stunned, and angry, we have to wait at least " and a half YEARS to find out what happens!!! One Word: EVIL!!!!!

I couldn´t believe it, how could he end it THERE?! Like THAT?!

What a damn genius, he is the best author in the world imo. But I still hate him ;)

heh, who else is annoyed that it ended the way it did? :P

I would have been annoyed at any ending, knowing it might be years before the next volume. The first chrons were released simultaneously, and the second chrons at yearly intervals, so a wait of up to a decade for the rest of the final chrons seems interminable. Hell, I might be a grandfather by then!

I just have one thing to say. SRD better complete the entire 3rd chronicles before he kicks the bucket. I'd hate to have to travel to heaven/hell and drag his undead ass back to earth.

trust me, this ending is worse... much worse in the fact you have to wait for the nxt book... how evil? :E

I agree. I hate those kind of endings. But I knew ahead of time that reading this would probably do that to me. I still couldn't believe the last line of the first Mordant's Need book...that one killed me. But this is worse.

And now...the wait begins...

I knew. Not far in advance, but I knew. When I discovered I was right, I leapt to my feet in joy and excitement.

YAY!

Glad could lend you the book to give you that thrill... however that book was orginally Creator's... you should thank him as well. 8)

Terrific ending. As a writer myself, I hope that the cliffhanger I'm writing into the first book of my series has 1/10th of the effect, although of course it won't, because of who Donaldson is and who I'm not.

the ending

I still haven't finished the whole book yet.

However, I made the mistake of glancing at the last page when I first surveyed the book; looking for that nice little part where they mention the name of the next book, etc. I couldn't help but see that last line.

SO, I'm reading the whole thing knowing what the last line says!
It's not really hurting it much, the writing is so interesting and the images so vivid that it's 99.9% as enjoyable.

I'd have to say it's the best ending SRD's ever written (not counting end of series endings...).

Just another reason I think he's at the top of his form here, although I'm in a distinct minority.

I know!!! DAMN SRD!!!! He needs to finish Fatal Revenant fast in a BIG way!!!

I normally like cliffhangers, but it's only usually when I have the next book right in front of me. DAMN IT!! :x
