SW Movie "Mistakes"

Post by Haruchai »

Does anyone know any 'mistakes' that were made in the Star Wars movies?

For exmple:

Star Wars Episode V -
In the asteroid scene, one of the asteroids is actually a shoe. The rumor is that George Lucas asked the SFX people to redo the scene so many times that they got annoyed and one of them threw in their shoe.

Star Wars Episode V -
Another of the asteroids is actually a potato. It appears just as the Millennium Falcon first enters the field. Two asteroids travel from the top left to the bottom right corner of the screen. Just after the second asteroid leaves the screen a third one appears in the top left corner. This is the potato.

I have never heard of these particular mistakes - the most common story mentioned in the trash compactor scene in Episode IV - Leia's white robe lost it's opacity when wet, and the scene had to be edited considerably, or else lose it's family rating.

Like most film mistakes, this one becomes obvious only when you're going scene by scene and looking for mistakes:

Here, we get our first look at the Millenium Falcon in Episode IV. As you can see, the ship is missing its trademark radar dish. Maybe Lucas will fix that in future special editions of Star Wars. :)

Though I have NOTHING to base this on it is however possible that the radar dish is retractable especially in a docking bay. The fact that it doesn't retract when it is captured by the Deathstar should be obvious. :D

It is possible, though highly unlikely, that the radar dish was merely a piece of Alderaan flotsam that magnetically attached itself to the hull of the Falcon when we flew through the debris.

I'm sorry Solo but Alderaan wasn't made up of radar dishes (though that would have been very cool) I'm pretty sure it was composed mainly of dirt and some rock but not much else. Nice try though.

The costuming for those movies was appalling.... I had Luke, Han, George, every male crew member, even the Wookie talking to my chest that day

Mistakes in Star Wars? hmmm... Try "Episode One: The Phantom Sad Act." That was a big b****rd mistake to be sure.

I remember that day. It was spectacular. I signed on for the sequals that very day, with the provision that I, not that geek Hammil, would end up with Leia.
