This movie was AMAZING. The previews are completely misleading though, it's actually a little more drama than horror. It's definately Shaymalan's (sp?) best yet. Wow... I can't stop thinking about it, it's just such an amazing idea! What'd you all think about it?

I was pleasantly surprised at the first credit to roll at the end of the movie. Never seen that before.

Oh dear God.
I have just come back from the cinema and immediately need to vent my frustration. i have never seen a worse film. admittedly i'm not a great fan of shyamalamalamalam's other films (though i did like 6th sense).

That is the dumbest ending ever. The film made no sense.

wot evil characters; so they let their kid die and let Ivy go blind before they go get medicine? how evil are they?

about the outside world? there were hundreds of people in that village, did they give birth to all of them? how old were they?

and at the end if you were

that security guard and you found a muddy blind girl wandering the streets you would take her to A&E or the police, not leave her there while you go rob your boss for stuff

couldn't we see the face of the guy who was reading the newspaper? i thought that would be the big suspense thing, like it would turn out to be the mentally challenged bloke or something

i woz so disappointed.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too but I think the elders had brought lots of older relatives with them that had died in the village. They mentioned that somewhere I think.

The second time I went was the first time for one of my friends. After 5 minutes she said "Wouldn't that be funny if those monsters turned out to be something totally not scary at all?"

...but I do think it could've been executed a lot better. And I totally agree with you about the twist, Gullible Johnny.

I dislike this film intensely. Gullible Johnny is right about the female elders thing. It sticks out like a pink pear in a bowl of bananas like, er, two minutes into the film. Ya gotta laff!

I loved the trailer and I really wanted this to be a horror movie! Obviously, I was disappointed. When the interesting part of the movie began, it was over.

The twists were a bit boring although I didn't see them coming. The final twist left me disappointed because it didn't lead to anything. I guess that was the whole point and I should have been 'shocked' or 'disturbed' by the fact that they just went on with their lives keeping their little secret to themselves. But I wasn't.

Nice cinematography though. And it wasn't exactly boring - I liked the way Shyamalan built up the suspense. It just didn't have any real climax in my opinion.

Well I will be off to see M. Night Shyamalan's The Village tomorrow, then I can read all the spoilers above and give my take on the movie, personally I really like Shyamalan's work, so many people trashed Signs, I enjoyed it and see something new each time I watch it, I really love the "Twilight Zone" feel he gave to the begining credits.
His other works are really great too. In my opinion.

Just remember, the photo you see Walker taking out of the box near the end, 60's - 70's style clothing etc. And this is set in present day, they were living like 1897, no contraception, think of family sizes in those days. 30 odd years, you can have alot of babies in that time.

Noah, the "child minded guy" was the person doing the skinning, he had all day to do this in. He was disturbed, you can see it when he claps and gets all excited when the "monsters" come. It was like a game to him

You do see the newspaper man's face in the reflection of the fridge door, as Leper Fairy said, it was M. Night Shyamalan.

Once again Shyamalan has taken a story and given it that human edge and "naturalness" that sets his work apart from the run of the mill horror/sci-fi/fantasy films. Yes i am a big advocate of his films, but that is because he makes things feel that much more real.

Life of Pi This is apparently what Mr Shyamalan has in mind next, the adaption of the book by Yann Martel.

Na, you're wrong. Its shite. Its neither good horror nor sci-fi nor fantasy. If there was a genre simply entitled 'dull' then perhaps it would be one of the best. Face it, the film smells like last week's left-overs. And Torrent's right. I never climaxed once.
