Elohimfest 2004 Video

Post by Romeo »

Here's the first video clip from the interview (4 minutes). Please let us know of any problems...

(links removed - the videos are now available on the Official Site - www.StephenRDonaldson.com - as From The Author / Structured Interviews / June 2004)

Left-clicking should stream the file so you can watch while it downloads. If you plan to view it more than once, please RIGHT-click (or whatever the Mac equivalent of that is), and select Save As to download a copy of the file to your hard drive. (the less these videos tax the server, the more of them we can upload)

WMV format seemed to produce the best result with the smallest file size (and I'm reasonably sure that both PCs and Macs will be able to play it). If anyone has any recommendations for a better format that is smaller or better quality - while still being as compatible as possible (without requiring the end user to install additional software), please let us know.

Cheers!

Thanks, Romeo! The 6.5M file is crystal clear and the sound is great. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks so much! For people such as myself who live in Australia and will probably never get the opportunity to meet the man in person, this is a real treat!

Mmm love it. Live streaming SRD.

edit: I didn't expect SRD's voice to sound like that. Then again, you usually never wonder what a person's voice sounds like before you meet them, heh. Favorite authors are such exceptions!

Man, why do I have to be on the ship tonight!

Have you thought about compressing the file and making it a straight dl? And once I'm back home, I'd be more than happy to direct share the file over MSN messenger with anybody who wants it.

Great work Romeo and everyone involved!

Yeah, I forgot to say thanks, Romeo--and to everyone else involved. Are you going to eventually post the whole thing? I think my DSL can handle movie-size stuff pretty decently.

Kewl!! :D Nice going to all involved!!

And for those wondering, that's caam's voice asking the question in the beginning. :)

Thanks for the treat, Romeo! I would have liked to have heard SRD's voice a little more clearly, but I'll take anything I can get. :)

Just incase anyone is wondering: I only have a dial-up connection (46.6kbps) and decided to download the dial-up file first. Not happy with the quality, I decided to see just how long it would take to download the other file and it was only took about 5 minutes. Well worth it as the file for faster internet connections is crystal clear!
Once again THANKS ROMEO :D

My pleasure.

Has anyone experienced any problems yet? Is it working on Macs as well as PCs?

The interview excerpt is great. I agree with Foul, SRD doesn't sound how I expected, and he's far more gesticulative and animated that I would have thought. The sound quality's a bit ropey, but it's good enough to discern what he's saying. Thanks, Romeo 8)

Hold on. Let me warm up my slappin' hand. Y'know, if you put any word other than "American" in it's place...

He sounded a bit more... black than I would have liked.

You get the picture?
