Gollancz Website in UK and Runes, plus interview

Post by Arturia »

Check out orionbooks.co.uk (Gollancz' new website) for interview with Donaldson and details of ROTE. He's the featured author of the month.

Release date just says October, but Waterstones say its down for 21st October.

By the way, I'll be going to Manchester for the author signing.

Just read the interview.

Here's an extract to give the less patient amongst us some hope ....

"RK: How many years is this project going to take you?

Stephen Donaldson: My contract says that I have three years to produce each book, though I hope to get them done in less time than that. As I get older, I have less energy and my aspirations are higher. And I was never one of those people whose adrenalin kicks in the closer I am to a deadline, so I need to give myself plenty of time."

Me again

There's also 2 dates for book signing and an author talk - one in London (Foyles, Charing Cross Road), the second in Glasgow. No mention of Manchester though!

We Northerners don't like to travel where the maps read "Here Be Beasties" though! Do I risk my own epic quest South into Hotash Slay, aka London? Or North to Scotland where the sun don't shine?

Manchester is definately a tour date - some of us will be meeting there to go to the signing - check the General SRD forum for details.

The site also has a brief excerpt from the book (UK edition). Pages 91-95 if you're interested in spoilers.
