I'm a little ill today, so if I'm less than coherant, forgive me.
As far as reality goes, and scientific laws, I definately once again finding myself lean towards Avatar.
I think that space and time and physics are concepts that we apply to create the reality around us. I think that this happens, like in the determinism thread, as a result of what we think is best for us.
Often, the strongest guide over the human being is society. And I think that's where the shared hallucination comes in..although I don't think its a hallucination any more than anything else is a hallucination. For example, if you, and my parents, and everyone else that ever lived has decided on a basic world view, culture, history, etc (I like to call it a mythos) I would be in a very bad place if I decided to reject it (unless it turned out that it would be advantageous to reject it. And I think it is, in some instances). Therefore, in order to best serve myself, I accept the information that they give me.
This does not mean that I scientifically KNOW anything that they've told me, or KNOW it in any other way. That also doesn't make it reality. The way science fluctuates, I have not been given any indication that we are 'narrowing in' on the truth at all. It seems as though most discoveries come from random directions.

do what you can.
