Fable anyone?

Post by VioletX »

Forgive me for limiting my posts to the Waymeet, but these are the only threads I know what anyone is talking about, lol! I'm not as an extensive reader as you all.

Anyhoo, I just bought Fable. I was hoping for an open-ended game like Morrowind, the way the developer's had described the game. The game-play is perfect, and on-the-fly uses for items is easy. The maps are dissapointingly small, it's like as soon as you start getting interested in where your at, then *poof* your loading another map. Your lucky to find something to kill and maybe a treasure chest.

What are your opinions? Tell me what you like or don't like, or if you even heard of the game, lol.

I've heard of it, and the decription made me drool. From what you've said, I'd be disappointed.

Now I don't want to discourage anyone from getting this game. It is fun, it's just not as open as I would have liked. It reminds me more of a Zelda game than any RPG, but then Zelda isn't RPG, it's an action game. If they would have hyped it up as an action game I would have been less dissapointed. They just hyped it up waaaay too much as an open RPG, blech.

All I'm trying to say is, if you have played Morrowind, and expecting Fable to be like it, don't. I just don't want anyone spending money on something that doesnt live up to the hype.

It's the openness that appeals to me. I always like games with a significant degree of freedom. That's why Pirates remains one of my favourite games, even though it's old - it has a level of flexibility that even newer games rarely match. Still, from all I've heard of Morrowind, it might be worth getting an X-Box just for that.

Oh yes, you would like Morrowind, Covenant. You can get a used xbox at a decent price. I ended up inheriting the xbox, otherwise I never would have bought the console. I'm so glad I did. MS didn't have many RPG's for a long time, but they're flowing like water anymore.

I'm also enjoying playing Live, my computer doesn't have enough space for an MMORPG, so this will suffice until MS comes out with one. Right now, there are only shooters and racing on Live.

Anyway, sorry to stray off topic. One fun thing I love to do in Fable, is running around to crowds of people and dispersing them with my flatulence, lol. Sometimes people will RUN.

I've only been able to play 2 hours or so. This game rocks. It's not what they hyped it to be, but it is definetly worth the time and effort.

Don't forget Halo! Xbox without Halo is the Bible without the Old Testament. Or something.

No worries L. Fairy, Halo's great just messing around and shooting things. I remember playing co-op on the first Halo with my little brother in law. He didn't know what he was doing half the time, so we always just went on suicide missions, good times :) .

PS, if you ever need Morrowind help L. Fairy, let me know. Iv'e been reading and learning a lot about the game in the past few weeks. I'm not all knowing by any means, but I have easy access to good info ;).

My friend rented Fable and got really exited and just had to show it to me. His main objective in the game was to exercize his congigal rite with his wife. The sad thing is his first was at age 64 or something like that. But there were some other funny parts to it. You can run around and kick chickens and the game keeps track of how far your best chiken kick was and stuff like that.
My right hand is lightning and my left is thunder.
My eyes are flame.
My heart is ashes.
Look upon me and tremble.
