New to the watch, and a quick browse of the existing threads did not appear to explore an idea that occurs to me: Joan=The Earth or perhaps that somehow their fates are intertwined.
Consider what we are given.
1. WGW and ROTE establish that the land persists after the death of TC so it exists independently.
2. The similar natures of the Sunbane and Joan’s blood lust.
3. Joan’s ability to manifest ceasures in the land before being summoned.
4. Joan’s recovery at the end of WGW coinciding with the eradication of the Sunbane.
5. Joan’s subsequent slip into a catatonic state within a short period of time after WGW perhaps around the time of the loss of the Staff of Law and the rise of Kevin’s Dirt.
6. The title of the series: “The Last Chronicles” and since Joan is struck by lightning likely dieing as events unfold in the land.
If this is true, then the Earth is destroyed at the end of the current series.
The obvious problems I see with this are the following:
1. Ritual of Desecration – Nothing comparable with it in Joan’s life. But SRD may not of considered the idea until the second chronicles.
2. LF’s ability to influence people (cult members) in the “real” world. But those people all knew Joan.
3. ROTE indicate that a raver is torturing Joan.

I think there might be a thread or two somewhere in the Thomas Covenant forum comparing Joan's health with the Land's health in the Seond Chrons, but I think you might be the first to bring it up for the Last Chrons.
I also wonder if there might be a link between Kevin's Dirt and Joan's catatonic state?
When exactly did Kevin's Dirt begin?

Welcome to the Watch, IVB!
I like your comments about Joan's relationship to the Land, with the exception of the coorelation of Joan's onset of catatonia and the loss of the SoL or start of Kevin's Dirt. Linden says in the prologue that when she and Berenford (after Covenant's death,) that Joan was already in a catatonic state. Since the time ratio of the earth to the Land is roughly 1 day = 1 year, not much time could have elapsed in the Land by the time that Joan slipped in catatonia.
