I'm pretty sure 5000 words won't be enough for the story I'm planning... Can I have a special exemption?

I'm pulling 5k out of the air with nothing in particular in mind however I do believe that submissions should be limited in some way. I'd be comfortable with a 10k limit. (My own submission could easily exceed 5k now that I think of it :D )

I think a 10k limit is more reasonable for this kind of thing. However, I do feel that it should be an absolute maximum, and people should aim to make their submissions closer to 5k.

New Av, Loremaster? I thought the last one suited you so well!

Wait... maybe I just let the picture colour my view of you, instead of vice versa...oh well....

Anyway, Poetry was included in this too, right?

Also, since we're such a community anyway, I think it would be great if there was a group effort here as far as critiquing and everything goes... I mean, we all share at least 6 (or 7) great books :) I'm sure we could definately help each other... maybe in the hall of gifts, start topics with works for this like "KW Anth: The name of the poem or short story" and then get input that way? Just a thought. I'd definately love to get in on this, I neeeeed a reason to start writing again.

If you guys do decide to use a thread in the Hall of Gifts for the submissions, let me know, and I would be happy to make a sticky thread for that. :)

Question: Where would the profits from the POD book go? Towards paying costs of the Watch, or perhaps for a charity of some sort? :?
Love as thou wilt.

Costs of the watch! Or divided? It's pretty rough to turn a profit on something like this though... I just think it would be fun.

This predates Baradakas, though

I was here in spirit though.

His response: "Holy $&!^. He's not kidding! Look at all these muffins!"

That's what I assumed, though putting the proceeds towards the cost of running the Watch sounds good too.

As for having a thread or threads for submissions, I agree with an earlier comment. I'm in favour of minimal exposure for the submissions, so the anthology will be as fresh as possible for readers.

It looks very much like we are finding a consensus here. I recomend we begin setting up the schedule, create and post the submission requirements, get an submission and editing team together and get this thing moving. Let the PMing begin!
