Favorite WoT Name...

Post by Iryssa »

You have to admit...some of RJ's names are pretty good...what's your fave?

I'd have to go with Lews Therin Telamon...I just love how it sounds.

Yeah it does sound cool. Mine would be Myrdraahl (sic).

There's this Green Aes Sedai called Kiruna. Kiruna is a town in northern Sweden. Muahaha.

And Rand is Swedish for stripe, Tam means tame, Mat means food, etc.. RJ has a thing for Sweden. :p

On the other hand... Rand is the unit of South African currency, Tam is a hat, and Mat is something that goes on the floor. ;)

Or: Mat/Matrim = Merry/Meriadoc, and Perrin = Pippin.

Personally, I just get pissed off when RJ changes names ever so slightly between characters, just to confuse me.

But the best character name is Bela the Wonder Horse.-jay

I kinda like Lews Therin Telamon myself, but I'm also partial to Mandarb. And I recall something along the lines of, "See that horse over there? His name is Mandarb, too..."

Although Perrin and Mat's names are pretty cool, too. 'Specially Perrin. I'd totally name a kid Perrin.

I like Perrin, too...
