The corruption of time
I finally finished reading runes, so I could start on the posts here. Late nights and lots of threads lead me to consider this scenario. Sorry if its not quite clear, I havent totally thought about how to express this. Im sure someone who understands my raving will be able to expand on it.
In earlier books, characters were told they were certain things, convenant was the white gold, linden embodied law, following these
Did that make sense to anyone else? It sure seems possible to me.

The arch of time will be broken during the final chronicles. Law and White Gold exist outside the arch of time, Covenant was finally able to best Foul when he died (after being stabbed in the real world). Linden is dead, being shot, and will die in the land before breaking the arch. But because the laws of life and death were broken (and time is corrupt), linden and convenant can exist outside the arch, Linden will break the arch using white gold and law, cast foul out of creation, the rebuild the arch using herself and convenant as the components (like vain and findail remade the staff of law. The ending will be the re-creating of the Land without foul, restoring the beauty we first saw in the original stories.
I think that's exactly what's going to happen - with the exception of Linden using the white gold. Granted, she has a facility with it that Covenant does not, but she is uncomfortable with it and, most importantly, Covenant IS the white gold/wild magic.
Yes, welcome.

Thats a very well thought out theory Milikki, and one i hope comes true. When i first discovered the land and its people it was the most refreshing thing i had ever read, but through the books its become increasingly distressful just how much they have suffered. Wouldn't it be great to see the oath of peace once more restored, without the malice of lord foul to corrupt it.
The harmony with which the people lived was enlightening to think of and that'll need to be restored for me to be fully happy. Sadly i know SRD is not interested in my happiness, but only my literary satisfaction. Come on Mr Donaldson, make us weep tears of joy, not woe.

Lord Foul WANTS to be cast out of creation! He HATES it! (And he has to have more power out side it!)
Perhaps ...Or perhaps not ...
Anyways, what are the current odds on both Linden and Thomas each weilding a white gold ring at the end of the series?
Perhaps ...
Spoiler
Thomas Covenant will hold Lord Foul as buddy Linden RENTS them with her Wild Magic to eviscerate Foul!!

Yes, Linden did say that some infections have to be cut out.
A "Wildwielder"? The wielder of wild magic.
(I answered that, even though I thought it might be a joke.)
BTW....welcome to the Watch Milikki!

That a little contrite, Covernant and foul are not together in any way, covernant is dead, foul cannot die, Covernant died to stop despite breaking the arch of time, he knows that foul will never do this but foul is free to abuse the land as long as covernent denies him he cannot break free, Lindan is the only way to get Covernant to relent, she is being used to manipulate covernant

Taking the theroy a step further. If linden and Covenant will be the Arch and Law of the Earth, perhaps other people will have their places too.
Possibly Anele will be thenew Land, or he will represent Earthpower; I'm sure Jeramiah will come into play in the future of the Earth.
This is a much more pleasant idea than Covenant just becoming Foul and tearing everything to hell, I must admit.
