I'll go with:
QUEEN
Zeppelin :R
Guns N' Roses
Black Sabbath
AC/DC
LYNYRD SKYNYRD (It should be most against the law not to own some Lynyrd Skynyrd)
The Who
Hendrix
Nirvana
Van Halen
Metallica
Soundgarden (I *LOVE* Superunknown-- :R BLACK HOLE SUN!!!!! :R If my novel had a theme song or a song to fit its mood, that'd be the song--I play it in a loop when I write on the book)

Can't help it I just love the LB song "Break Stuff"! You're right about Nirvana--tho I have to be in the mood...never considered Queen headbangerz tho---me no like Axl--so never got into G&R--also have OZZYphobia--but his, now deceased, guitarist: Randy Rhodes kicked some serious ass (and Randy Castillo's from Albq.!)....Love old Lynryd Skynryd but always put them in "Southern Rock" category. I saw them one month before the plane crash...

Hey--remember "Bohemian Rhapsody"?! Wayne's World?! And the song that STARTED headbanging was "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath. They're the fathers of metal, ya know. I know who you're talking about--the guitarist and all, but I've of yet listened to him. Need to very much!

Don't see how you couldn't like Axl after hearing November Rain or Sweet Child O' Mine. He's a lot like Robert Plant--his voice, that is.

I think most of you guys know I'm a pretty big metalhead (though a bit more to the grunge/cerebral metal side of the spectrum), and that metalhead is severely tempted to take points away for even mentioning Limp Bizkit in this thread, though nobody mentioned Linkin Park or any other such nu-metal attrocities (technically, Korn would qualify, but they were around and still good before nu-metal broke) so I'll keep my righteous anger checked.

Tool
A Perfect Circle
Alice in Chains
Jerry Cantrell
System of a Down
NIN
Drain STH
Primus
Tool
Toadies
Henry Rollins Band
Soundgarden
GnR (much closer to good ol' "hard rock", though)
White/Rob Zombie
and Tool

Dang it, Danlo, I just saw the Staind, Slipknot, and ICP???? Not that they're not occasionally amusing (though Eminem is far superior), but how the heck do they fit in the metal category?

No soup for you!

Right they need their own category...but I like one or two Slipknot songs alot, and I just picked LB for Break Stuff--I can't complete a Headbangerz playlist on the Jukebox w/o it. Duchess mentioned Staind first! I can't believe I forgot System of a Down...now for that I'm truly embarrashed!

You guys be nice to Duchess or I'll disavow this thread--Let's try to state our own opinions not critisize others...

Hey, now, I've made it no secret previously about my feelings about nu-metal in general and linkin' park in specific. But I've also made it clear before that it's just an opinion. People can like whatever they like (and usually do), but that doesn't mean I can't rib people for it. It's like disco or Barry Manilow to me, or rap to other people.

Around here I freely welcome people to say if they think something sucks (even the moderator is fair game, though not the members). To me, loathing some music is just as important as loving other types. What is melodious to one is discordant to another, and it's important to know that about people.

You'll notice I've never said someone was substandard for liking nu-metal (the people that make and produce it however... ;) ). Besides, you can't take any comments seriously that either ends with a  or a phrase by the Soup Nazi. So... thppppt. :p

No soup for you for 3 months!
(and you guys know I got nothin' but love for ya)
